Wake Forest men to play Virginia Friday

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Third-seeded Wake Forest and No. 2 seed Virginia will meet in the first of two national semifinals on Friday, December 11, at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, N.C. Kickoff is slated for 5 p.m. (ET) and the game will be shown live on ESPN2.

Top-seed Akron and No. 5 seed North Carolina will square off in the other semifinal, which is set for 7:30 p.m. on Friday and will be televised by ESPNU. The winners will meet in the national championship game on Sunday, December 13, at 1 p.m. on ESPN2.

Wake Forest advanced to the College Cup semifinals for the fourth straight season after defeating UCLA 2-0 on Saturday at Spry Stadium. The Deacs have had success at WakeMed Soccer Park in the NCAA Tournament, claiming the program’s only national title the last time the College Cup was held there in 2007.
