Carolina remains #1 in Women's Ranking

North Carolina found itself tested by a pair of road matches in California this weekend, but Anson Dorrance’s Tar Heels came away with a set of 1-0 victories to maintain their undefeated status and #1 ranking in the latest TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Tournament 64 National Ranking.
Stanford remains at #2 in the ranking after a pair of wins. Boston College, Portland and Texas A&M(w) move up a spot each respectively following the overtime loss by Notre Dame Friday night at UCLA. Virginia also moved up from 8 to 6, with Maryland and Florida also climbing following their victories this weekend. The number of teams leaving (and entering) the ranking this week climbed into double digits, as top teams within conferences or contenders for at-large bids begins to take shape.
Meanwhile Texas A&M(w)’s Rachel Shipley has been named TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week following her role in the Aggies two road wins this weekend. Shipley scored twice in her team’s 3-1 win at Indiana, and then added 2 assists including a killer pass on a golden goal as the team defeated Purdue 2-1.
