Stanford still #1; Sarah Hagen POTW
November 8, 2010
Stanford continues at #1 of the TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s Tournament 64 National Ranking. The Cardinal finish the regular season as Pac-10 champions and the only undefeated team in women’s DI college soccer with shutout wins over Oregon State and Oregon. Paul Ratcliffe’s squad now enters the NCAA Tournament at 18-0-2 overall and 9-0-0 in the Pac-10, and will without question be the #1 overall seed in the tournament, ensuring home matches through the first four rounds of the event.

The Tournament 64 National Ranking is a running effort to project the 64-team NCAA Tournament field, including all automatic conference and at-large bids to the field. It is updated every Monday through the season. You can see the entire ranking here. Therefore this week is our final effort to predict the field before Monday’s NCAA Tournament Selection show. We utilize conference results, the RPI (which we’re not altogether crazy about) and our opinion on who is deserving in making the projection.
Meanwhile, Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Sarah Hagen has been named TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week following her offensive exploits in helping the Panthers to a Horizon League Tournament championship this weekend. Hagen scored 3 goals and added an assist to continue her prolific scoring campaign at UWM. With the honor, Hagen headlines this week’s TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.
