August 22, 2011

The opening week of the women’s college season is in the book, and UCLA, Notre Dame and Stanford, scratch, retaining their order for now.

Number 4 preseason selection Boston College was held to a draw by crosstown rivals Boston University, dropping them to 7th. Big movers included UC Irvine, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and San Diego. The only new team in the ranking this week was Ohio Valley Conference program Austin Peay, which replaced Murray State.
