Continuing our 2-part look at the Big East Player Rankings (Read Part 1), we look at the Red (men’s) and National (women’s) divisions. As with the others, it is extremely difficult to come up with a certain list of 20 top players per division, but this is our charge, so here is our offering.

For the National group, Notre Dame’s  dynamic duo of Melissa Henderson and Courtney Barg sandwich Georgetown’s Ingrid Wells to make a talent-packed top 3. The defending national champion Fighting irish have 6 players out of the group overall.

On the men’s side, Louisville’s Colin Rolfe and his goal-scoring exploits are #1, and last season’s national finalists have 5 players on the opening list. 

For the next 5 weeks or so, we will be unveiling our top 20 list for each competitive DI conference, men’s and women’s. These rankings are based on previous accolades, current season performance and especially the feedback of informed observers all over the country.

The rankings are subject to change at any time and will be replaced with a comprehensive season-ending version in December.
