This week’s release of the TopDrawerSoccer.com Tournament 64 National Ranking for women’s soccer once again shows Stanford as the undisputed #1 in the country, and if it was needed, the Cardinal  put a  punctuation mark on their status with an impressive 4-1 victory over previous #2 UCLA on Sunday.

Oklahoma State, North Carolina and Duke follow in the ranking, which is a running effort to project the postseason NCAA Tournament field, including each automatic conference and at-large qualifier.

The TopDrawerSoccer.com Women’s College Team of the Week is chosen after reviewing every match report for Division One soccer. Highlighting the selection this week is LaSalle forward Renee Washington, who scored 3 goals in a pair of Explorer victories, including the overtime winner in a pivotal Atlantic 10 matchup with Dayton.

Special mention also goes out to the Cardinal defense. We didn’t see anyone just leaping out at us on the offensive side of things this week for Paul Ratcliffe’s team, so we decided to point out something folks may have overlooked in all the team’s success the past few years: Stanford plays excellent defense. So we included the back 4 in this week’s selection.

Following is the full Team of the Week for week 8:
