Miller produced big-time for Steve Swanson’s Cavaliers over the weekend, totaling three goals and four assists in shutout wins over Liberty and Hofstra. The standout freshman brings an electric presence on the field with her dynamic attacking play, and obviously fits in well with the talented cast of players around her in Charlottesville.

Other members of the inaugural 2009 Team of the Week include:

Erica Marshall, Towson: Recorded 2 goals and 3 assists for Towson in the Tigers’ wins over Bucknell and Xavier.

Alexa Jones, Furman: Scored 4 goals for the Paladins in a 6-2 win over Presbyterian.

Kate Howarth, Miami (FL): Scored a hat trick for the Hurricanes in a home win over Ball State.

Brittany Neumann, Creighton: Had 3 goals and 2 assists for the Blue Jays in a lopsided win over South Dakota.

Tobin Heath, North Carolina: Had a goal and three assists in a Friday night win for the Tar Heels against UCF.

Alexandria Hampton, Oklahoma: The freshman scored a pair of goals for the Sooners in a shutout win over Oral Roberts.

Danielle Foxhoven, Portland: Scored four goals in a pair of Pilot wins over Pac 10 opponents California and Washington.

Lauren Hyde, Florida: Helped a strong Gator defensive effort and recorded a goal and an assist in a 2-1 win over South Florida.

Nikki Bush, LSU: Helped a stalwart Tigers’ back line in a shutout win over Southern Mississippi that yielded no shots on goal

Mandy Hall, North Texas: Recorded back-to-back shutouts for the Mean Green, with plenty of work to do in both.

Portland, the preseason #1 at TopDrawerSoccer.com, took a pair of wins over California and Washington to stay on top. The ranking is a running projection of the 64 teams who will be in the postseason NCAA Tournament field, and thus reflects projected automatic conference qualifiers as well as at-large teams.
