Updated: October 9, 2010
SAN ANTONIO – A tap-in goal by Texas-San Antonio’s Jodi Leroy in the 97th minute gave the Roadrunners a 2-1 overtime win over Northwestern State in Southland Conference soccer action on Friday night.

The loss was the fourth in five games suffered by NSU as it falls to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in league play.  UTSA remained perfect in conference play as it improved to 2-0 and 7-5 overall.

The Lady Demons got on the board first when Ashlee Savona netted her third goal of the season in the 24th minute on a fastbreak that began off a header from Melodie Johnson near midfield.  Johnson was credited with the assist as NSU took a 1-0 lead.

UTSA tied the game 20 minutes later on Allison Dillon’s fourth goal of the season when she beat Lady Demon goalkeeper Jessica Danku from the top left corner of the penalty box to knot the score up at 1-1.

NSU had a shot on-goal in the 76th minute by Haley Cheshier but the shot was saved by UTSA’s Dacia Webb to save the goal.

UTSA outshot the Lady Demons by a 14-8 margin as NSU had five shots on-goal to UTSA’s six.

The Lady Demons return to action on Sunday when they visit Texas State with a 1 o’clock start time.
