BURLINGTON, Vt. - Graduate student Lisa Kevorkian tallied six points and freshman Kylie Strom recorded three assists to tie single-game program records as the Boston University women’s soccer team (10-5-0, 5-0-0 AE) posted a 7-0 victory over Vermont (2-12-0, 1-4-0 AE) on Sunday afternoon.
Kevorkian netted two goals and added two assists en route to tying Stacy Schwartz (‘98), Kara Olivo (‘98) and Deirdre Enos’ (‘00) single-game record for points in a contest. Strom is now tied with Schwartz and Nicole Soules (‘01) for assists in a game. Both records had not been matched in 11 years.
In all four different Terriers found the back of the net on Sunday and Kevorkian and junior Tiya Gallegos scored twice with Gallegos adding an assist. Juniors Jessica Luscinski and Krista Minto as well as freshman Emma Clark also scored in the contest.
Freshman Kelly King and junior Alice Binns split time in net and were called upon just once to make a save and extend BU’s shutout streak to seven games and 648:02 minutes.
Luscinski opened the flood gates in the eighth minute when she put away a goal on a penalty kick. Ten minutes later Gallegos finished off a cross from Kevorkian from inside the six-yard box for her first goal of the game. She returned the favor almost exactly eight minutes later, sending a pass that split the defense, which allowed Kevorkian to beat UVM’s Alyssa Kelly in one-on-one.
BU did not waste any time in the second half as Gallegos headed home her fifth goal of the season off a chip from Kevorkian in the 48th minute. Kevorkian capped off her prolific afternoon with her conference-leading 10th goal of the season with Strom picking up the assist.
Strom assisted on the final two goals for Minto and Clark, respectively. Minto scored in the 68th minute on a low blast from 10-yards out to the far post, while Clark headed in her fourth of the season off a corner kick at 88:59.
In all, BU outshot UVM, 25-3, and put 18 on target.
The Terriers, winners of seven straight games, are now within two victories of tying a program record for longest winning streak, and three blank sheets away from matching the record for shutouts in a season. Additionally, head coach Nancy Feldman and the women’s soccer program are now one win away from their 200th victory.
BU returns to action on Wednesday (Oct. 13) at 7 p.m. at Dartmouth.
