FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: California (fall), Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (private), West Virginia, Wisconsin. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Maryland commit Connor Smith and Nick Brown each scored three goals as McDonogh routed John Carroll 6-0 to close out a perfect regular season. The Eagles next play in the conference semifinals Thursday with a possible league title match on Sunday.
2 (2) Copley Copley, OH 20-0-1
Junior Chris Brennan had a goal and one assist as Copley defeated Whitehouse 2-0 in the regional final to advance to this week's state semifinals and a rematch with Top 25-ranked St. Ignatius. In the regional semifinal round, Copley defeated Avon 1-0 in a battle of undefeated teams.
3 (3) St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 18-1-0
Coach Jim Wandling collected his 100th win in only his 104th contest when St. Benedict's defeated Dickinson 7-0 last week. With a career record of 100-4, Wandling is believed to be the fastest coach to reach the 100-win mark.
4 (4) Martin Luther King Manhattan, NY 18-0-0
MLK defeated Staten Island Tech (2-1) and Newcomers (2-0) to advance to the PSAL semifinals for the 20th straight year. The program is seeking a 15th PSAL title.
5 (5) Jesuit Carmichael, CA 22-1-1
Four players scored as Jesuit closed out regular-season play with a 4-0 win over Grant. The Marauders are the top seed for the 16-team section tournament.

Henry Yocum scored the lone goal as Air Academy defeated Littleton 1-0 to reach this week's state semifinals.

Wright State commit Tristan Lyle scored all three goals as Beavercreek topped Lakota East 3-2 to advance to this week's state semifinals against SIMA FAB 50-ranked Olentangy Liberty.

Sam Jester's second-half goal carried Appoquinimink to a 2-1 come-from-behind win over Caesar Rodney to complete a perfect regular season. The team is seeded No. 1 for this week's state tournament.

Season Complete. Michigan Division 1 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Jason Ren netted the lone goal as Canton capped an undefeated season with a 1-0 state final win over Rochester Adams in windy, 34-degree weather. The teams had tied 1-1 late in the regular season. Canton keeper Andrew Loehnis recorded his 16th shutout of the season as Canton claimed the school's second state title, both under head coach Mark Zemanski.

Ever Torres had a goal and two assists as Brentwood defeated Hauppauge 3-1 to advance to this week's county semifinals against Whitman. Brentwood is making a seventh straight county semifinal appearance.

Granite Bay received goals from three players in a regular season-ending 3-0 win over Woodcreek.

Chaminade Creve Coeur, MO 22-2-1
AJ Anthon's overtime goal lifted Chaminade to a 2-1 playoff win over rival SLUH. Next up is a clash with FAB 50-ranked Vianney this week.

Mike Pallonetti's goal in the closing minutes of the second overtime session lifted Commack to a 2-1 win over Central islip and into this week's county semifinals.

Kristian Heptner and Louis Heinzer each scored twice as Christian Brothers finish regular-season play with an 8-0 win over Casa Roble.

Season Complete. Wisconsin Division 1 state champion.
School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,085 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Ted Bieser scored the first two goals as Milwaukee Marquette rolled to a 4-1 win over conference rival Menomonee Falls in the state final. The result marked Marquette's 10th state title since joining the WIAA in 2000. The last five titles have come under head coach Steve Lawrence. Marquette outshot Menomonee Falls 25-5. Marquette's lone loss in 2014 was to Chaminade (Mo.).

After a scoreless match, River Hill edged league rival Reservoir in penalty kicks to advance to this week's regional final against another league rival, Mount Hebron.

Eddie Pleasha delivered the winning goal in overtime as Normal Community edged defending state champion and former FAB 50-ranked Edwardsville 2-1 in the sectional championship last week.

Bobby Barsic and Stephen Milhoan scored the goals as St. Ignatius rallied for a 2-1 win over Hudson in the regional final. The result sends St. ignatius into a state semifinal clash with Copley.

Ty Seager scored three goals and Lucas Hoepner struck twice as Wheaton Academy rolled past Belvidere North 7-0 in the sectional final. Next up is a clash with perennial title-challenger Peoria Notre Dame.

School Facts: Private, all-boys, 1,000 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Justin Gielen headed home the winning goal in overtime as DeMatha won a second straight WCAC crown with a 2-1 decision over Bishop O'Connell (Va.). Senior James Gielen scored the Stags' other goal. High Point commit Keegan Meyer recorded the victory in goal to cap a season where the team allowed only six goals and posted 15 shutouts. DeMath's lone loss was to Prep School power South Kent School (Conn.).

Connor Gregory scored one goal and assisted the other as Haverford School won a pair of 1-0 matches last week. The Fords face rivals Malvern Prep and Episcopal Academy this week before starting postseason play.
