One of France’s biggest names in coaching and player development is Pierrot Labat. Having played as a professional for Bordeaux in the 1950s, the visionary would find most of his success later within the sport as a teacher of the game. Returning to the club in the 1980s, Labat helped establish a renowned training technique that assisted in the development of incredible French talents Zinedine Zidane, Bixente Lizarazu, and Christophe Dugarry. More recently, the soccer mastermind has developed his own series of soccer training DVD’s, Pierrot Labat’s Elite Player Training Method. For coaches, the information and exercises present in the DVD’s can help transform your game to incredible new heights.

While geared toward players who already have some skills in the game, the lessons taught within these instructional videos can help you gain a strong edge over your opponents. Focused on demonstrating effective training exercises, the information can be utilized in practice to help you progress in a logical, systematic way. With a step-by-step approach, players will be introduced to each new skill in a smart progression that will help them work toward achieving the highest skill and success.  This is what sets the Labat instructional DVD apart from all the others out there.  Even current professionals have been utilizing the training methods in order to improve their skills.

The focus of Labat’s Method begins with touch on the ball and speed with one’s feet.  After these skills are taught, the work continues and expands into teaching team exercises with multiple players moving around in a game-like scenario. Movement off the ball is also covered, in addition to some shooting exercises. Use of a bounce board is also effectively demonstrated in many of the film’s drills. Ultimately, these skills become mastered through repetitive training and will mold players into professionals.

Several American youth soccer clubs, including the Bethesda Soccer Club in Maryland, have already successfully employed these tactics. By adopting these principles in their soccer training, several players from the club have become professionals for major European clubs, including Joe Gyau (Hoffenheim) and Gedion Zalalem (Arsenal). Additionally, Bethesda player Nicko Corriveau has earned a scholarship to the University of Virginia soccer team, and had a solid freshman year. Likewise, Mia Gyau has played for several of the youth U.S. Women’s National Teams and currently plays ahead of her age with the U17 National Team.

But while this single club has experienced so much success with Labat’s methods, individual players can also stand to gain much through these DVD’s, which are accessible to everyone and cover the drills in a simple and clear manner. Once players and coaches put these exercises into their daily practice routines, they will see quick and incredible results.

As the French World Cup winning legend Zidane says regarding Labat’s teaching principles, “This method was an essential part of my training and is necessary for all players.” Here is your opportunity to learn the same tools that this superstar utilized on his path to the ultimate success in soccer. Proven time and time again, the skills learned through Pierrot Labat’s Elite Player Training Method DVDs can certainly help you and your club develop into the players you always dreamed you could be.
