Castilla signs Homegrown deal with Houston
Midfielder Juan Castilla became the youngest Homegrown addition in the history of the Houston Dynamo this week, signing a pre-contract with the Texas franchise. He will officially be added to the team's roster on January 1, 2021.
The 15-year-old midfielder joined the Dynamo Academy in 2016, moving to Ohio and playing with the Crew Academy for a season before returning to Texas. He was part of the Dynamo Generation adidas Cup squad that qualified for the top division this past season.

“Juan is an outstanding young midfielder with an excellent combination of technical quality, composure and game insight,” Dynamo Academy Director Paul Holocher said in a press release. “When a player from the Academy becomes a professional it is always exciting, but in this case it is extra special as Juan started with the Academy from a young age and he has Houston in his heart. It is going to be exciting to see him continue to develop and grow as a young professional.”
Castilla was one of four Academy players called up by head coach Tab Ramos to join the Dynamo during preseason legs in Arizona and in the Rio Grande Valley prior to the 2020 season.
