Sometimes, it is just too hard to escape the ones that got away.

That’s the case for the U.S. U17 Men’s National Team as they head to Honduras this week for the 2015 u17 CONCACAF Championship. Among the rosters of the opposition at the qualifying event are a handful of players with experience with the U.S. youth national teams. Some experience was brief while others were in the picture for a while before jumping ship to another nation prior to the World Cup qualifying event.

The U.S. may not suffer from the loss of these players in the immediate, but the lasting impression of these players heading elsewhere could reflect negatively on the program in the future.
