Surf new No. 1 at U13

San Diego Surf EGSL Academy 04 takes over the top spot in the rankings this month. Surf leads the California Regional League and the Southern California Developmental Soccer League, with undefeated records in both. Surf played six matches in the CRL in August without conceding a goal, and has a +33 goal differential in SCDSL play.

10 matches into fall play in the NPL Northeast Pre-Academy League, and league leader East Meadow 04 Pre-ECNL lands at No. 10. EMFC is undefeated, leading the league with a record of 8-0-2, and 5-0-1 since our last update. EMFC has settled into an offensive groove since earning a draw with Connecticut FC on October 1, having scored 20 goals in its last five matches.

GSA, Penn Fusion climb at U14

GSA ECNL climbs five spots to No. 8 upon leading the ECNL Southeast Conference at the regular season’s midpoint. Class of 2021 forward Alexis Wright’s 13 goals is nearly half of her team’s total of 29 this season.

Penn Fusion makes a big leap, up nine spots to No. 16, on the heels of a 6-0 run in the month of October. Though Fusion leads the ECNL Northeast Conference, they still trail conference second place and No. 3 PDA in our rankings. PDA remains undefeated and won the head-to-head match-up between these two by a 2-1 score on September 25.

Blues still No. 1 at U15

We have to mention So Cal Blues’ run once again this month, as they continue to dominate the Southwest Conference. 12 players have scored in Blues’ seven matches, with three players in double digits: Reilyn Turner at 13, Alexandra Wright at 12, and Simone Jackson with 10.

Charlotte Soccer Academy leads the Mid Atlantic Conference with an undefeated 6-0-1 record, including a 2-1 win over No. 23 CASL in the first match of the season on goals by Asha Means and Bentley Settin. CSA climbs eight spots to No. 14.

Next Thursday: U16, U17, and U18 Boys

Grande Sports TeamRank is the comprehensive team-ranking system devised by TopDrawerSoccer.com to provide an objective and common-sense approach to determining which elite youth soccer teams are the best in the nation.

The rankings, updated monthly, are primarily results-based, with a nod toward the league and championship competitions that emulate how excellence is determined in leading soccer nations around the world.

Tournaments are also included but at a reduced value due to the many mitigating factors involving such events, including attrition and guest players.

A final layer of executive evaluation is provided to account for variables that often impact results, thus ensuring that the monthly lists are not subjective, but are not purely mechanical.
