LSU brings in bumper crop from 2010 class
February 7, 2010
Continuing our look at top recruiting classes from around the country…
(Remember, schools often do not announce their full recruiting class until well past National Signing Day)
There’s no two ways about it, Brian Lee and the LSU Tigers cleaned up on the recruiting trail for the 2010 graduating class.
Houston-area player Mary (Addie) Eggleston was the highest-ranked recruit to join the Tigers, with Clearwater Chargers forward Kaley Blades, Dallas Texans’ winger Nina Anderson, Polaris midfielder Jodi Calloway and Challenge SC goalkeeper Megan Kinneman completing the quintet in the century club.
But the Tigers didn’t stop there, also enrolling at LSU this fall will be Floridian Kendall Narum, Texan Shannon McClain, Rock Hill, South Carolina’s, Alex Ramsey and Louisianans Emily Cancienne and Danielle Murphy.
Lee didn’t miss the chance to brag a little about the class.
“This is a monumental day in the history of the LSU soccer program,” Lee said. “We are fortunate to sign a group of young women that will rank among the top signing classes in the country this season. This will be a class that will build on the foundation established by the seniors and take us to another level with our ultimate goal of competing for SEC championships and Final Fours.
“We have an outstanding nucleus of players returning next season that will work with this freshman class to continue building the kind of championship program we want here at LSU.”
In the Big 12, Baylor coach Marci Jobson was bullish on her class of 8 signings, including Ela Elite defender Taylor Heatherly, Dallas Texans’ defender Vic Hoffman, Dallas Sting midfielder Alex Klein, Albion Hurricanes’ goalkeeper Michelle Kloss, Dallas Sting defender Kat Ludlow, Classics Elite defender Georgia Mullins, River City Fire forward Selby Polley and Dallas Sting midfielder Karlee Summey.
