National champ Amber Brooks joins U20s for camp

Fresh off her team’s College Cup defeat last week, UCLA coach Jillian Ellis has called up a new group of women for camp in Sunrise, Florida, for a U.S. U20 National team gathering beginning today.
Sydney LerouxThe team will be working toward the 2010 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Germany. The dates for the event were recently announced, with the qualifying tourney taking place Jan. 19-30 in Guatemala City.
The U.S. team will be in group B, along with Mexico, Trinidad & Tobago and Jamaica.
The World Cup itself will be staged in four German cities from July 13-Aug. 1.
Playing in camp will be Ellis’ own Sydney Leroux, and national champion North Carolina midfielder Amber Brooks.
