San Jose Earthquakes academy midfielder Cruz Medina is on trial with Bayern Munich, according to Grant Wahl. Medina won the Golden Ball (Best Player) in the U15 age group at the 2021 MLS Next Cup. 

Medina is an attacking midfielder who is currently playing with the San Jose Earthquakes U17 (2005) age group in MLS Next. He has not signed a professional contract with the MLS side yet. 

Medina, born on September 24, 2006, is a key part of the U.S. Youth National Team system. He was part of the U17 Men’s National Team camp in December in Florida.

Prior to joining the Earthquakes, he played for San Francisco Soccer Club.
