Regional winners top Heartland Team of Month
Here is the Players To Watch Team of the Month in July for the Heartland Region (Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Iowa, South Dakota, North Dakota)..
Remember, this feature is to honor top performers in their region over the past month or so and across the span of age groups. There will be a boys' list and a girls' list, and a new region will be covered every weekday, Tuesday through Friday of each month. You can submit nominations at teamofthemonth@topdrawersoccer.com .

Following is the Girls List, in no particular order.
Morgan Petsche, Cedar Rapids SA 97/98 Premier, U13 (IA), Forward: Morgan scored 2 of the 4 goals for the team at the Region II Championships in Wisconsin.
Elizabeth Rudigier, KC Blaze Blue Angels, U14 (KS), Forward: Had 3 goals in the Region II Championship round robin play. Was one of the top 10 goal scorers for the tournament.

Taylor Walker, KCFC Alliance, U15 (MO), Midfielder: Great attitude and hard worker. She helped the team to get to its 3rd State title and the semifinals at Region II.
Jessica Hartzel, KCFC Alliance, U15 (MO), Defender: Solid defender whose team only allowed 1 goal at the State Cup.
Hannah Leinert, JB Marine Wipke, U16 (MO), Forward: Had 1 goal in the Region II semifinal game. Had 4 goals for the tournament and was listed as one of the top 10 goal scorers for the Region II Championships.
Jade Klump, JB Marine Wipke, U16 (MO), Forward: Scored 3 goals in 1 game of the Region II pool play, making her one of the top goal scorers for tournament. Jade has committed to play college soccer at the University of Kentucky.
Alexis Heffernan, Iowa Rush Nike, U17 (IA), Midfielder: Alexis had 3 goals in 1 game at the Region II Championships.
Shea Groom, KCFC, U18 (MO), Forward: Leading goalscorer for the team.
Bethany Smith, KCFC, U18 (MO), Forward: The second leading goal scorer for her team. The team won the state championship and also the ECNL National Championship at U18.
Jessica Kelley, St. Louis Scott Gallagher Green. Academy, U18 (MO), Midfield: helped her team to advance to the Region II semifinals. Scored 2 goals during pool play to help her team advance.
Following is the Boys list, in no particular order:
Peter Schropp, Omaha FC, U14 (KS), Defender: Helped team win state cup by holding down the defense and advancing to the Region 2 championships in Iowa. Peter is a member of the U14 National Team.
Kolby Scott, Dakota SC Premier Black, U14 (SD), Forward: Scored 2 goals in a 4-1 win over Dakota United in the Region II tournament.
Jesse Jasso, Blue Valley SC Stars Benfica 96/97, U14 (KS), Forward: scored 3 goals in the first game of regionals vs. Ohio Elite. Jesse helped his team to advance to the semi-final game where they lost to regional champion Chicago Magic. Jesse was part of the top goal scorers for the U14 age group at the Region II Championships.
Aris Nukic (left)
Brandon Milburn, Kansas City United 94/95, U16 (MO), Forward: teams top goal scorer with 9 goals and the top assist holder for team with 6 assist. Scored and assisted on both goals in the Region II President Cup Final.
Mitchell Moncada, Springfield SC, U16 (MO), Forward: scored first at the 9 minute mark in the Region II Championship game. Team lost in overtime 2-1 to Cup Crew Jrs. Gold.
Zach Byrd, Kansas City United 94/95, U16 (MO), Defender: a key part of the team’s defense. Team only allowed 5 goals in the last 9 games played.
James Holloway, Scott Gallagher Gold, U17 (MO), Goalie: James performed very well in the nets all season, but his biggest accomplishment was saving 3 penalty kicks in the semifinal match against a team from Springfield. This allowed U17 Gold to move into the final game of the Missouri State Championship.
Jacob Wieser, Scott Gallagher Gold, U17 (MO), Defender: Jacob’s strong defensive play and uplifting attitude during the whole season was enjoyable to experience as a coach. Jacob was the team captain and he encouraged all his teammates to perform at their highest level during the Missouri State Championship and Regional Play.
Paul Scheipeter, Scott Gallagher Gold Team, U17 (MO), Defender: Paul’s very aggressive play in the backfield along with the other centerback(Jacob Wieser) made it a nightmare for any offensive player trying to score against us all year long. Defense definitely wins championships. Paul’s defensive play very much so contributed to us winning the Missouri State Championship game
Aris Nukic, Scott Gallagher Gold Team, U17 (MO), Forward: Aris has a very quiet personality but when it is time to score goals he is very explosive. This young man scored important goals in the state semifinal game which allowed us to move into the Mo State Championship game in which he scored the winning goal. Aris scored 7 goals in regionals which made him one of the leading scorers of the tournament.
