Signs still pointing to Residency’s Closure

Slowly but surely, the role of the U.S. Residency Program has diminished from the growth of the elite soccer player in the United States and now, signs are pointing to this current cycle being the last for the once gold standard of player development in the country.

TopDrawerSoccer.com managing editor Robert Ziegler discussed the details about closing the Residency Program in a post earlier this year.

“A decision is due sometime this spring as to whether to continue the program located on the grounds of the IMG Sport Academies in Bradenton, Florida,” Ziegler wrote in January.
