The 91st Minute: Officiating insight
January 23, 2020
This week on the 91st Minute, Whitney Lewis and Kevin Brennan talk to Marie-Soleil Beaudoin, a senior level referee for FIFA.
They get into what it’s like to be an official on the World stage, as Beaudoin was the referee for the World Cup semifinal game between The Netherlands and Sweden.
She was also the referee during the 2018 FIFA U-17 World Cup Final in Uruguay. Beaudoin gets into what it takes to be a high-level referee (WAY more than you think) and how she got to the highest level. In her “spare” time Beaudoin is a mother of one, has a PhD and is a professor at Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia.
