What girls YNT scouting can look like Pt. 2
There won’t be any clarity or certainty when it comes to scouting in girls club soccer until games resume.
But April Kater, former U.S. youth coach that currently works for Real Colorado, has a simple principle that she hopes continues from the Federations perspective.

“My biggest thing was repetitive looks,” Kater told TopDrawerSoccer. “It can’t be a one off, it can’t be a half of one game or a moment type thing.”
Kater’s experience putting together a scouting network for U.S. Soccer emphasized that. Whether it was having players involved in training centers coming in each month and showing that they could compete playing up an age group, she worked with staff and volunteers to ensure players were consistent enough before receiving a youth national team call.
