2018 MLS Draft Rewind

The path from college soccer to MLS via the draft is one that’s far from guaranteed.

This year’s exercise is no different, heading into the opening weekend of the North American domestic season.

Look no further than the fact that teams passed on 11 of the 92 picks, leaving 81 players getting picked in the four rounds of the draft. The day before the season starts, only 32 of those 81 have earned a contract so far. That number could change, though it’s not going to deviate significantly.
