Board of Directors approves spring schedule
The proposed spring schedule put forth last week by the Division I Council have been approved by the NCAA Board of Directors on Tuesday.
This means that the Division I men's and women's soccer seasons will tentatively go forward in the spring. Championship windows for both men's and women's DI soccer are scheduled for May 13-17; both competitions would begin on February 3, and selections for the NCAA championship on April 18.
The NCAA tournament field for both will be reduced by 75%, meaning 36 programs will qualify for a men's DI championship and 48 for the women's.

“The plan sent to us by the Division I Council provides the maximum number of opportunities to fall student-athletes to participate in NCAA championships while still being fiscally responsible,” acting board chair Denise Trauth, president at Texas State, said in a statement. “We look forward to the spring, understanding things will look a little different but knowing the competitions will be just as meaningful as in normal circumstances.”
