Faith Preziosi Named MAAC Rookie Of The Week
EDISON, NJ – The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its weekly award for women's soccer on Monday afternoon. Freshman Faith Preziosi earned her second weekly award of the season being named the Co-Rookie of the Week.
Preziosi had an assist on in Iona's 2-1 loss against the Quinnipiac Bobcats on Wednesday, Sept. 26. It was her first assist of the season. Preziosi then scored the game-tying goal in Sunday's double-overtime draw against the Canisius Golden Griffins.
Thus far this season Preziosi has three goals and one assist. She has appeared in 11 games, starting in each. The rookie is tied for the team lead in multiple categories: seven points, three goals, nine shots on goal, 16 total shots, one assist and one game-winning goal.
Along with Preziosi's first MAAC Rookie of the Week award on Aug. 20, fellow freshman Emma Havrilla was named the MAAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 3.
Preziosi and the Maroon & Gold return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 3 against the Rider Broncs. The game is at home on Mazzella Field and begins at 3 PM. The game is being aired on ESPN3.
