Junior striker Pat Flynn scored early and often Sunday afternoon (Aug. 30), propelling the Bowling Green State University men's soccer team to a 4-1 win over Western Illinois University. The non-conference match was held at a sun-drenched Cochrane Stadium.
With the victory, the Falcons improve to 2-0-0 on the young season, while dropping the Leathernecks to 0-2-0.
Flynn recorded a hat trick, giving the Falcons the lead for good with less than three minutes gone, then scoring the game's final two goals in the second half. Classmate Joe Sullivan had BG's other goal, and added two assists on the day.
