Seton Hall Hands Iona First Defeat Of 2012,

<p><strong>SOUTH ORANGE, NJ</strong> - The Iona College women’s soccer team dropped their first game of the 2012 season, falling to Big East member Seton Hall 1-0 on Monday evening at Owen T. Carroll Field.</p>
<p>Iona (0-1-1) struggled to get past the Pirates defense and was credited with just four shots - all in the second half. SHU finished the game with a 21-4 edge in shots and an 8-0 advantage in shots on target. Iona junior netminder <a class="biolink" href="http://www.icgaels.com/ViewArticle.dbml?SPID=7101&ATCLID=204973276&DB_OEM_ID=14900">Trista Rivera</a> made seven saves in the defeat.</p>
<p>Seton Hall (2-0) got on the board in the first half, as Ashley Clark scored the lone goal in the 30th minute. The hosts held an offensive advantage over the Gaels in the opening frame, finishing with a 7-0 edge in shots.</p>
<p>The Gaels will remain on the road and will take on La Salle on Saturday at 4 pm from McCarthy Stadium in Philadelphia, Pa.</p>
