Sobierajski Tabbed ECAC First Team All-Star
Siena Women’s Soccer senior captain Tara Sobierajski has been named to the 2016 East Coast Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I All-Star Team. A First Team selection for the second consecutive season, the Rockaway, New Jersey standout was previously heralded as the MAAC Defensive Player of the Year, a First Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Tournament Team selection earlier this month.
A Preseason First Team All-MAAC selection, Sobierajski quarterbacked a back line for Siena which ranked second in the conference in goals against average (0.96). The only Saint to play in all 1,788 minutes this fall, she ranked tied for fourth in the MAAC with eight assists in leading Siena to a 9-7-3 overall record and a second place finish in the league standings with a 7-3 conference mark.
Siena’s first-ever three-time First Team All-MAAC selection, Sobierajski recently wrapped up one of the most decorated careers in program history. She graduates as the Saints’ all-time career leader in assists (23), matches played (82), matches started (82) and minutes played (7,686).
