Get to know more about Iona women's soccer freshman forward, Jackie Morris:

You came into your freshman year undecided on what to study, any thoughts into which direction you'd like to take?
"I've always been interested in medicine. Although I don't know what I want to major in right now, I know I want to end up in the medical field."

What got you into playing soccer?
"I grew up with 3 older brothers that all played sports. My brother Johnny played soccer and he was a big role model for me. He inspired me to follow in his footsteps."

What do you like so far about Iona?
"Aside from soccer, I really enjoy my classes. The professors make the experience so much more enjoyable."

How to you prepare for a game? Do you have any pregame rituals or superstitions you have to do?
"I have to drink a certain amount of water bottles the night before and I count the amount of hours of sleep I'll be getting. I also have to play with my hair in a braid in games."

Why do you admire your parents so much? What qualities do they have or have tough you to make you into the person you are today?
"My dad taught me to always stand up for myself and believe in the person I am. My mom reminds me to appreciate the little things in life and make the best out of every situation. My parents have always supported me and have done everything they can to ensure my happiness."

Iona's next game is at home on Mazzella Field against the Rider Broncs on Wednesday, Oct. 3. The Gaels are set to kick off at 3 PM and you can tune in live at ESPN3.
