Women's Midseason Top 100 Players
With the women’s college soccer season hitting its halfway point, it is time to unveil the Midseason TopDrawerSoccer Player Rankings. The list spotlights the top 100 performers of the campaign so far, measuring their minutes on the field, statistical achievements, and, most notably, their influence on winning.
1. Izzy Engle, Notre Dame - With 12 goals in 11 matches for an undefeated College Cup contender, Engle has set the standard this season. The reigning TDS Freshman of the Year has been sensational and clearly the top performer so far.
2. Elise Evans, Stanford - Mixing her typical defensive fortitude with increased offensive contribution, Evans has been the most dominant center back in the country. Her form has helped the Cardinal achieve nine wins through 11 matches, scoring 44 and conceding seven.
3. Hope Leyba, Colorado - The top scorer in the country resides in Colorado, with Leyba managing 14 goals through 13 matches. Most impressively, the junior striker has scored against several nationally ranked opponents, as someone who can do it in intense environments.
4. Macy Blackburn, Texas Tech - Shining as a dynamic two-way right back, Blackburn has been equal parts a lockdown defender and an impactful creator. The redshirt senior is second in the country with nine assists, coming from pinpoint set pieces and varied crosses. All while playing over 900 minutes for a Red Raider defense that has conceded six goals in 12 matches.
5. Olivia Thomas, North Carolina - Thanks to Thomas, the defending champions remain a contender despite a somewhat rocky start to the campaign. With a goal or assists in 10 of the 13 games the Tar Heels have played, the junior has shown up time and time again when the team needed it most. Her 11 goals and five assists add up to 27 points, which ties her for fourth in the country.
