An unbeatable goalkeeper in the SEC is the women’s college soccer Player of the Week.

Florida extended its unbeaten streak to seven games, thanks to Paloma Pena, a redshirt sophomore who managed 13 saves in two clean sheets. The first shutout came at No. 8 Tennessee, where the Florida native stopped eleven shots to secure a 0-0 draw. Returning home, the Gators earned another 0-0 tie as Pena saved both shots on target.

Women’s Team of the Week: October 13-October 19

GK: Paloma Pena, Florida(w) - The towering goalkeeper managed 13 saves to earn two 0-0 draws as Florida held both opponents scoreless.

D: Caitlin Mara, North Carolina(w) - Mara flexed her goal scoring prowess, getting on the end of two set pieces to lead North Carolina to a 3-0 win over SMU.

D: Libby Holmes, Louisiana-Monroe(w) - Another to cause havoc on set pieces, Holmes scored two headers and assisted another goal as the Warhawks dominated Troy 3-0.

D: Mira Pierre-Webster, Western Michigan(w) - In a stellar week, the Canadian defender played the full 90 and scored the lone goal to defeat Eastern Michigan, then played another complete match in a 4-1 defeat of Kent State.

M: Emma Egizii, UCLA(w) - Egizii helped fuel a rampant UCLA offense with a goal and three assists across 3-0 wins over Iowa and Nebraska.

M: Olivia Platt, Kansas City(w) - The redshirt junior did it all for the Kangaroos this week, playing all 180 minutes and recording two goals and an assist as Kansas City defeated both North Dakota State and North Dakota.

M: Ida Hermannsdottir, LSU(w) - With two goals and two assists, the Icelandic attacker paced a 4-1 victory over Mississippi and 1-1 draw with Kentucky.

M: Quinn Johnson, UT Chattanooga(w) - Delivering when called upon, the talented freshman scored one in the 1-1 tie with Furman, then added two goals to lift the team past VMI 3-0.

F: Hannah Anselmo, Stonehill(w) - At the double this week, Anselmo recorded two consecutive braces as Stonehill defeated Delaware State and Mercyhurst.

F: Ellie Walbruch, BYU(w) - Arizona had no answers for Walbruch as she completed her hat trick with a 76th minute game winner to power the Cougars to a 3-2 victory.

F: Se-Hanna Mars, Connecticut(w) - The redshirt freshman had a breakthrough week, scoring the first three goals of her career as Connecticut earned back-to-back 2-0 wins over Butler and Villanova.
