Fabian Abarca, a sophomore forward from Johnson High School (Gainesville, Ga.), and Hannah Sink, a junior forward from Glenn High School (Kernersville, N.C.), are the NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Players of the Week.

Abarca may be an underclassman, but he played well above his years in high-pressure postseason action last week. In three games, Abarca netted five goals to lead Johnson to three consecutive wins to keep alive its playoff hopes in the Georgia AAAA tournament. He scored twice in the first game to lead Johnson to a 3-0 win over Marist and immediately followed up that performance with a goal in a 2-1 win over Carrollton. Finally, he hit for a brace in the state quarterfinal game against Cairo to lead Johnson into the final four.

Sink makes her second appearance as the girls player of the week this spring thanks to another prolific pair of games. In two contests last week, the offensive leader scored three goals and tallied four assists to guide Glenn’s 4-3 win over Northwest Guilford High School and its 8-1 win over High Point Central High School. In the first contest, Sink assisted on Glenn’s first goal and its last, a game-winning tally that helped the team to a tight one-goal victory. In the latter game, she was involved in half of Glenn’s eight goals via either goals or assists.

Other boys finalists include Mason Earl (Olympus High School, Holladay, Utah) and Tyler Bennett (Dixie High School, St. George, Utah). Other girls finalists include McKenzie Nabity (Millard South High School, Omaha, Nebraska) and Andria Serra (Alleman High School, Rock Island, Ill.).

The NSCAA/TopDrawerSoccer.com High School Player of the Week honor is designed to highlight a selection of the nation's rising stars populating the high school ranks. Coaches are free to nominate a boys or girls player each week through our submission form that can be found here. Be sure to include the school and any relevant stats from the previous week. The selection process will take into account a slew of factors from contribution to team results to individual accolades. Honorees are announced each Wednesday.

The next submission deadline will be noon (CT) on May 19 before the Player of the Week announcement on May 21.
