Twelve coaches were named to participate in the annual High School All-American Game for fall players. The event, usually slated for December, will be held May 29, 2021, in St. Louis, Mo. The contest will remain an event for traditional fall-playing high school states, which means those states currently in action as well as any usual fall state that will play in the spring of 2021, assuming state play is complete before May 29.

Here are the 12 coaches selected for the event:

AROUND THE NATION …

CALLED OFF: A varsity boys showdown between perennial St. Louis powers [DeSmet Jesuit mo-m] (Mo.) and Christian Brothers College (Mo.) was canceled this past Friday do to possible COVID contact, according to an article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. CBC announced the cancellation on Friday afternoon, just hours before the contest, but was clear to say at that point there were no positive COVID tests. DeSmet is the reigning state champion. CBC won in 2018 and 2016. The two league powers have combined for 16 state titles, 10 since 1999.

WAITING GAME: It appears Salesianum (Del.) will have a season after all. The longtime Delaware boys power has lined up a schedule and will start regular season play on Oct. 24.
