The top two spots in the SIMA FAB 50 boys and girls fall rankings were already locked up, yet there was still a lot of jockeying left to be done on the final week of the fall high school season.

State tournament results in Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Washington over the weekend resulted in quite a bit of fine-tuning for the final rankings.

In some cases, this meant teams that were already finished moved down to accomodate new teams more worthy of higher rankings.

The biggest surprises last week was first-time state champion Bellevue (Wash.). The team, led by Stanford commit Jojo Harber, vaulted from the state and region rankings to No. 10 in the SIMA FAB 50 after wrapping up an undefeated season, which included ending Seattle Prep's 44-match win streak en route to the final. 

St. Ignatius (Ohio) boys and Davis (Utah) girls already had locked down the No. 1 rankings. Boulder (Colo.), the top-ranked boys public school, finishes No. 2, followed by Lower Dauphin (Pa.), Pennington School (N.J.) and Conestoga (Pa.). Penn (Ind.) was No. 2 in the girls rankings, followed by Walsh Jesuit, the highest-ranked private school, Glastonbury (Conn.) and Central Catholic (Mass.).

New Jersey led all states with eight teams in the boys rankings, followed by Illinois with six -- and all six in the Top 25. Pennsylvania had five teams in the top 30. On the girls side, with far fewer states playing in the fall than for boys soccer, New Jersey and Ohio each had seven teams in the rankings, followed by six for New York and five for Maryland.

Hunterdon Central (N.J.), St. Anthony's (N.Y.), Urbana (Md.) and Walter Johnson (Md.) were the only schools to have its boys and girls teams finish in the SIMA FAB 50.

NEWCOMERS: BOYS: No. 26 Bernards (Bernardsville, N.J.), No. 29 Elizabethtown (Pa.), No. 46 Hunterdon Central (Flemington, N.J.), No. 47 Middletown (Md.). ... GIRLS: No. 10 Bellevue (Wash.), No. 46 Urbana (Ijamsville, Md.) and No. 47 Moon (Pa.).
