FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The boys fall high school season includes the following states: Colorado, Connecticut, D.C., Delaware, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Vermont, Virginia (private), West Virginia, Wisconsin.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

1 (1) St. Benedict's Prep Newark, NJ 14-0-0
Celio Pompeu scored first-half goals last week in wins over The Hill School (Pa.) and Chaminade (N.Y.) as the Gray Bees remained perfect. In both outings, St. Benedict's carried multi-goal leads into halftime.
2 (2) Whitefish Bay Whitefish Bay, WI 19-0-0
Whitefish Bay showed last week why it was a preseason Top 30 pick in the FAB 50 and have been climbing all season long with a 3-0 win over perennial state power Marquette. The result ended Marquette's instate undefeated streak at 55 matches. Matthew Comiskey scored all three goals.
3 (3) Conestoga Berwyn, PA 15-0-1
In a season full of quality results, Conestoga might have delivered the most impressive one last week -- a 5-1 win over Cumberland Valley. That's the same Cumberland Valley team that played to a tie with perennial North Carolina independent school power Wesleyan Christian. This week, Conestoga faces a real threat in FAB 50-ranked Lower Merion. Both teams are 10-0 in league play.
4 (4) Libertyville Libertyville, IL 14-0-2
Libertyville opens postseason play as the No. 1 seed in its regional, a which includes Top 25-ranked Waukegan and last year's state runner-up Barrington. Surviving that group, which also has locally ranked Carmel and Buffalo Grove will not be an easy task.
5 (5) Martin Luther King Manhattan, NY 11-0-0
Martin Luther King picked up a forfeit win last week against a team it had defeated by double-digits earlier in the season.

Delbarton School Morristown, NJ 13-0-1
Liam McSorley served up assists on three of Delbarton's four goals last week as the Green Wave defeated Montville 3-1 and Dover 1-0.

Naperville North Naperville, IL 20-1-1
Defenders Colin Iverson and Ethan Harvey scored goals four minutes apart midway through the second half as Naperville North rallied for a 2-1 win over Neuqua Valley in the DuPage Valley Conference final.

Columbus St. Francis de Sales Columbus, OH 15-0-1
Hector Gomez scored twice as St. Francis de Sales closed out an undefeated regular season with a 5-1 win over Indian Hill.

Parkland Allentown, PA 18-1-0
John Kiser scored five goals and Owen Iacobelli added four last week as Parkland won four matches. In the finale of that busy week, Parkland scored five second-half goals to put away Allentown Central Catholic 6-1 after the score was tied at 1 at halftime.

E.O. Smith Storrs, CT 10-0-0
Cooper Knecht scored twice as E.O. Smith rallied for a 2-1 win over Glastonbury. E.O. Smith also defeated South Windsor last week. The Panthers have not been overly dominating lately, winning two one-goal and one two-goal contest -- but they are doing it against of the state's top public schools.

Peters Township McMurray, PA 12-0-1
Peters Township clinched the WIAL Class 4A Section 2 league title with a 4-0 win over second-place Upper St. Clair last week. The Indians had matches Monday and Tuesday to close out the regular season.

Wayzata Minneapolis, MN 16-0-2
Ethan Wagner scored the lone goal as Wayzata defeated Minneapolis Southwest 1-0 to advance to this week's Class 2A, Section 6 final.

Archbishop Curley Baltimore, MD 16-1-1
Penn commit Ben Stitz scored twice as Archbishop Curley pulled away from a 4-0 victory over St. Augustine (N.J.) at Villanova's Higgins Soccer Complex.

Severna Park Severna Park, MD 11-0-1
Severna Park shut out Chesapeake-AA and Northeast-AA to remain in the lead of the Anne Arundel County League race.

Cardinal Gibbons Raleigh, NC 13-0-2
Cardinal Gibbons' lone scheduled match was washed out last week.

La Cueva Albuquerque, NM 13-0-4
Jake Eanes scored goals in both games and Andres Zanios had a two-goal performance against Sandia as La Cueva won a pair of matches last week.
17 Olentangy Liberty Powell, OH 12-1-2
Underclassmen Colin McCort and Ashvin Rajmahon scored the goals as Liberty posted a second big victory of the season with a 2-1 defeat of Dublin Coffman. The Patriots also defeated St. Ignatius last month.

Dublin Coffman Dublin, OH 13-1-2
Emeka Eneli tied the match at 1, but Dublin Coffman ended up falling to Olentangy Liberty 2-1 in the regular season finale for both programs. They could meet again in postseason play.

Waukegan Waukegan, IL 14-2-3
Waukegan, which handed Libertyville one if its two ties this season, is the No. 2 seed in the Fremd Section and could earn a rematch with Libertyville if the seeds hold up in a highly competitive section.

Cicero Morton Cicero, IL 18-1-2
Morton's lone loss this year is to Waukegan. The Mustangs are the top seed in its section and will be easily favored to win in a section that also has Lyons and Oak Park-River Forest.

Salesianum Wilmington, DE 9-1-0
Casey Kurlej had a big week, scoring twice and handing out a pair of assists in a a pair of Salesianum wins. He scored the team's first two goals in an 11-0 thrashing of St. Mark's. He assisted on a goal during the team's 2-0 win over Appoquinimink. Sophomore Andrew Blackwell added a hat trick during an eight-goal second half against St. Mark's.

Junior Andrew Lawrence scored the team's lone goal as Blue Valley Southwest and Bishop Miege played to a 1-1 last week in a battle of undefeated teams.

Bishop Miege Roeland Park, KS 12-0-1
Bishop Miege and Blue Valleu Southwest played to a 1-1 tie last week, leaving the teams tied for first in the Eastern Kansas League as both teams enter the final week of regular season play.

Bishop Gorman Las Vegas, NV 14-0-3
Corrigan Neville had a goal and one assist as Bishop Gorman edged Spring Valley 3-2 last week. In a bit f a shock, Goman and Clark played to a scoreless draw. Clark was in last place in the league. This week, Gorman faces a tough Durango team, which sets second in the league behind Gorman.

Walt Whitman Bethesda, MD 8-1-2
Walt Whitman posted three shutouts last week, but one was a scoreless draw with Quince Orchard. The Vikings have allowed only five goals this year, two of them in a 2-1 setback to St. Benedict's (N.J.).
