The winter season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

NOTES: Montverde Academy stretched its undefeated streak to 117 matches with a 1-0 win over Coppell (Texas) in the final of the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament, which featured nationally ranked programs from four states. Andre Shinyashiki scored the match-winning goal and was named tournament MVP after scoring five goals in three matches. Defensive midfielder Matius Silva has committed to Saint Louis.

Buchanan Clovis, CA 12-1-1
Buchanan defeated league rivals Clovis West 2-1 and Clovis 4-2 last week to remain undefeated in league play.

Alex Fuentes and Samuel Huerta scored the goals as Sam Houston stayed undefeated with a 2-1 win over Southlake Carroll last week.

Colleyville Heritage Colleyville, TX 5-0-4
Heritage defeated Fossil Ridge and tied Irving MacArthur. The latter result allowed for Sam Houston and Heritage to flip positions in this week after playing to a tie the previous week.

Flower Mound Flower Mound, TX 5-0-1
The co-favorites in District 6-6A did little to change that projection last week as Flower Mound and McKinney Boyd played to a 2-2 draw. Garrett Fruendt and John Satterla scored for Flower Mound.

McKinney Boyd McKinney, TX 4-1-2
Braeden Andrews and Hayden Uhl scored the goals as Boyd played to a 2-2 draw with Flower Mound in the first of two district meetings.

Coppell Coppell, TX 6-2-0
After scoring one goal in its first two matches this season, Coppell has found its offensive stride -- netting 27 in its last four (which includes a 1-0 setback to top-ranked Montverde Academy, Fla.). The Cowboys defeated Dallas Jesuit 3-0 and Irving Nimitz 6-0 last week.

Max Valdivia's overtime goal gave Cathedral a 2-1 win over Salesian in a battle of SIMA FAB 50 Top 15 programs. Jose Cano scored Cathedral's first goal. The teams will square off again in February.

Gulliver Prep defeated Westminster Christian 2-0 in the district final, putting the team in a regional quarterfinal match this week against Ransom Everglades.

Round 1 went to Cathedral, as Salesian was handed a 2-1 setback in the first meeting between the Los Angeles powers. The teams meet again next month in regular-season play.

Doral defeated Miami Jackson for the third time this season, the most recent encounter was for the district title. If both teams win their regional quarterfinal match this week, they will play for a fourth time.

Franco Resendiz and Alejandro Zamarripa scored to lead North Mesquite to a 2-0 win over Midlothian.

El Segundo El Segundo, CA 11-1-3
El Segundo is riding a 13-match undefeated streak, which includes a tie with Los Angeles Cathedral and a win over Millikan.

Millikan Long Beach, CA 18-1-4
Millikan is two wins away from clinching the Moore League title, and that could come as early as next week.

American Heritage-Plantation Plantation, FL 14-2-3
American Heritage defeated Hallandale for the district title and advances to the regional quarterfinals. If the Patriots beat regional foe Miami Jackson, it could face Doral in the regional semifinals.

St. Paul's 13 goals scored in two outings last week came from 10 different players.

Choctawhatchee Fort Walton Beach, FL 25-0-1
Choctawhatchee defeated Gulf Breeze 3-1 last week to win the district title and move into this week's regional quarterfinals as the home team. Choctawhatchee is favored to reach the state semifinals where it could face Sunlake. On the other half of the 3A playoff draw, Tampa Jesuit, American Heritage-Plantation and Doral Prep highlight the list of title contenders.

Fleming Island defeated Atlantic Coast for the district title and could find itself pitted against Chiles in the regional final if both teams win their next two playoff matches.

Javier Silva made a game-clinching save in penalty kicks as Cypress Bay won the district final over St. Thomas Aquinas in a shootout following a 2-2 match.

Despite a rash of ties, El Toro powered its way into the Top 25 this week following a 1-0 victory over San Clemente. Daniel Parker scored the lone goal for this undefeated Orange County team.

American Heritage survived a scare from Benjamin and then defeated Oxbridge Academy to win the district title. The Stallions are in Florida's Class 2A and could face Gulliver Prep in the regional final next week.
