NOTES: Montverde Academy stretched its undefeated streak to 117 matches with a 1-0 win over Coppell (Texas) in the final of the Montverde Academy Soccer Tournament, which featured nationally ranked programs from four states. Andre Shinyashiki scored the match-winning goal and was named tournament MVP after scoring five goals in three matches. Defensive midfielder Matius Silva has committed to Saint Louis.

Buchanan defeated league rivals Clovis West 2-1 and Clovis 4-2 last week to remain undefeated in league play.

Alex Fuentes and Samuel Huerta scored the goals as Sam Houston stayed undefeated with a 2-1 win over Southlake Carroll last week.

Heritage defeated Fossil Ridge and tied Irving MacArthur. The latter result allowed for Sam Houston and Heritage to flip positions in this week after playing to a tie the previous week.

The co-favorites in District 6-6A did little to change that projection last week as Flower Mound and McKinney Boyd played to a 2-2 draw. Garrett Fruendt and John Satterla scored for Flower Mound.

Braeden Andrews and Hayden Uhl scored the goals as Boyd played to a 2-2 draw with Flower Mound in the first of two district meetings.

After scoring one goal in its first two matches this season, Coppell has found its offensive stride -- netting 27 in its last four (which includes a 1-0 setback to top-ranked Montverde Academy, Fla.). The Cowboys defeated Dallas Jesuit 3-0 and Irving Nimitz 6-0 last week.

American Heritage survived a scare from Benjamin and then defeated Oxbridge Academy to win the district title. The Stallions are in Florida's Class 2A and could face Gulliver Prep in the regional final next week.
