Southlake Carroll defeated Fossil Ridge and tied Keller Central in district play last week. Kyle Reynolds scored the goal that salvaged the 1-1 tie with Keller Central.

NOTES: Montverde Academy's bid for a ninth straight undefeated season came up short due to one December defeat, ending its national record undefeated run at 185 matches. The Eagles, however, defeated FAB 50-ranked Tampa Jesuit along with three other district champions and two district runners-up. The team featured goalkeeper Weston King (Louisville), Bernardo Gracindo (Northeastern), Bryan Moreira (Indianapolis), Bruno De Nez, Ricardo Paiva, Pedro Melo, Xavier Laneuville, Frederico Tramonina and Ricardo Rego.

Sunnyside had a first-round playoff bye and starts postseason play this week in the state quarterfinals against Cienega.

Salvador Ontiveros made two big saves in the closing minutes as Loyola held off Valencia 1-0 in the CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs. The Cubs advance to this week's quarterfinals against Edison.

Ian Tomancik headed in Spencer Mallion's corner kick early in the match and St. Thomas Aquinas' defense did the rest in a 1-0 playoff win over Miami Reagan. The win sends St. Thomas Aquinas into the region final on Wednesday.
