FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Edgar Renteria scored three goals and Andrei Aguirre had the other two as Elsik won its matches last week, beating Pearland 2-0 and Brazoswood 3-0.

St. Paul's was idle last week.
3 (3) San Antonio LEE San Antonio, TX 9-0-1
Hugo Cerros scored a goal in each match as LEE defeated San Antonio Madison 3-1 and San Antonio Churchill 2-0 last week.

Doral Academy was pushed to a shootout, but survived the challenge to defeat Miami Beach for the district title. In Florida's playoff system, both teams advance to the regional tournament.

Montgomery extended its shutout streak to seven matches with wins over Windsor (4-0) and Santa Rosa (7-0) last week. The win over Santa Rosa clinched a league title for Montgomery with two regular season matches remaining.

Marcus Flower Mound, TX 11-0-1
Marcus has scored three or more goals in eight straight matches, which includes last week's 4-0 thrashing of city rival and defending state champion Flower Mound.

Wakeland Frisco, TX 13-0-1
Wakeland's scoreless tie with Frisco Heritage last week led to the Wolverines swapping places atop the Texas-North rankings with Flower Mound Marcus. In the team's other outing last week, VCU commit William Hitchcock had a goal and three assists in Wakeland's 6-0 victory over Frisco Reedy.
8 (8) San Clemente San Clemente, CA 20-1-3
San Clemente received goals from three players in a regular-season 3-0 win over El Toro. The Tritons will be the top seed in the upcoming CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.
9 (9) Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 15-1-1*
Season Complete. Independent school season.
School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy has secured a 10th straight Top 10 finish during the 2019-2020 season. This team is likely to move up as the rest of the season plays out. The Eagles' marquee win came during the final week of play, a 3-2 decision over Top 25-ranked Tampa Jesuit. The first verbal commit from this year's Eagles team was Olivier Correa (Jacksonville), followed by Edward Mensah (Penn State) and Richy LaPointe (Jacksonville).
10 (10) Santa Barbara Santa Barbara, CA 19-1-4
Santa Barbara closed out an undefeated league showing with wins over Lompoc Cabrillo and Doe Pueblos last week. The Dons drew a tough first-round opponent in the CIF Souther Section Division 1 playoffs -- Harvard-Westlake, a team that had an early win over Servite and spend time in the SIMA FAB 50 this season.

Boca Raton Boca Raton, FL 23-0-0
Junior Ryan Baker scored the lone goal as Boca Raton edged Spanish River for the district title. Next up in the regional tournament.

Duncanville Duncanville, TX 12-0-2
Duncanville and JJ Pearce played to a 1-1 draw last week in a match between the district favorites. The next time the teams clash, the district title likely will be on the line.
13 (13) Southlake Carroll Southlake, TX 12-1-0
Robbie Pino's stellar season continues. The senior scored a goal in the team's 8-0 rout of Fossil Ridge and then had two goals and two assists in the team's 4-0 decision over Keller Central.
14 (14) Naples Naples, FL 19-1-3
Jordan Geisler and Luis Baldivieso scored the goals as Naples edged city rival Lely 2-1 in the district final. Naples now has three one-goal wins over Lely this season, and the teams could square off one more time in the regional playoffs.

Tampa Jesuit Tampa, FL 19-3-2
Carson Bien and Kai Rodrigues each scored twice as Jesuit routed Hillsborough 8-0 in the district final. The Tigers have now won district titles 34 of the last 36 years.

Cathedral Los Angeles, CA 13-4-2
Cathedral got a measure of revenge last week, handling Bishop Amat 3-0 to win the Del Rey League title. Bishop Amat had stunned Cathedral just a couple weeks ago to earn a SIMA FAB 50 ranking. But on the return contest, the Phantoms proved too strong as it received goals from three players.

Loyola Los Angeles, CA 18-2-3
Loyola closed out a third straight undefeated league season with a 2-0 win over Sherman Oaks Notre Dame. The Cubs are 32-0-5 since their last league loss, which was late in the 2016-17 season. Loyola opens postseason play against an always dangerous Santa Margarita team.

Central Catholic San Antonio, TX 13-2-0
NC State signee Jose Gallegos scored twice as Central Catholic cruised to a 4-1 win over Concordia Lutheran in a TAPPS Division I playoff match.

San Ramon Valley Danville, CA 18-2-2
San Ramon's 10-match win streak ended with a tie against Richmond last week in a non-league contest. This week, the Wolves clash with De La Salle with the EBAL title on the line. San Ramon Valley enters the match at 10-0-1, with De La Salle right behind at 10-1 -- the only loss coming to San Ramon Valley.

De La Salle Concord, CA 17-1-1
De La Salle has a chance to avenge its only loss when it takes on San Ramon Valley this week. Last week, the Spartans defeated Dougherty Valley and Monte Vista.
21 JSerra San Juan Capistrano, CA 12-3-1
JSerra, which has been in and out of the rankings this season, jumped back into the Top 25 following a 5-0 win over Mater Dei. The one-sided win came as quite a surprise as Mater Dei won the first encounter 4-0. JSerra's victory left JSerra, Servite and Mater Dei tied on points in the Trinity League, leaving the tams as tri-champs. Max Carvalho and Carson Kendall each scored twice against Mater Dei.
22 (22) Servite Anaheim, CA 8-5-8
Servite closed out the regular season with a 10-0 win over Orange Lutheran, which put the Friars in a three-way tie on points for the Trinity League title.

Reagan Doral, FL 18-0-0
Reagan jumps into the Top 25 this week following a district title victory over Dr. Krop. The Bison won the match in a shootout following a scoreless tie.
24 (24) Mater Dei Santa Ana, CA 15-4-1
Mater Dei had already clinched at least a share of the Trinity League title before being handed a 5-0 setback by No. 21 JSerra, a team Mater Dei handled 4-0 earlier in the season.
25 (25) Torrey Pines San Diego, CA 15-2-3
Torrey Pines has a chance to avenge one of its losses and take control of the league race when it faced Canyon Crest Academy this week. In the earlier meeting, Canyon Crest pulled off the 2-0 stunner.
