Rank School Record
1 Montverde Academy Montverde, FL 0-0-0
After two seasons with the program's focus geared toward its club ventures, Montverde Academy has brought its focus back to high school soccer. Look for the Eagles to return to fielding its best players on the high school team, much like it did up until the 2017-18 season.
2 San Antonio LEE San Antonio, TX 0-0-0
Wilmar Aguilar and Francisco Segura lead a potent LEE offense that put up 99 goals last year en route to a state runner-up finish. Both players hold NCAA Division I full-ride offers. They are joined by Kentucky signee Andrew Erickson and second-team all-state pick Henry Bowland. This year's LEE squad is set up for a run at No. 1. LEE will be put to the test in January with an appearance at the North Texas Elite Showcase and a on-league game with Top 10-ranked Central Catholic.
3 Brophy Prep Phoenix, AZ 0-0-0
UC Irvine signee Case Montanile highlights a strong returning lineup for Arizona's defending large-school state champ. Also back are all-state honorees Anthony Hidalgo and Eduardo Serrano. Cal Poly commit Conner Leber, who played club ball last winter, returns to Brophy's lineup for the 2019-20 season. An early trip to the Lotto Western Showcase in California will be important for Brophy's bid for a No. 1 ranking.
4 Alief Elsik Houston, TX 0-0-0
Attacking players Mayno Linares and Edgar Renteria and defenders Andrei Aguirrei and Miguel Chavarri were TopDrawreSoccer.com State Stars in 2019, and all four are expected to return for the Rams this season. Elsik reached the state semifinals last year and a run at a state title in 2020 is not a stretch for this Houston power.
5 Loyola Los Angeles, CA 0-0-0
UCLA signee Grayson Doody and junior forward Spencer Roberts, a Division I prospect, highlight Loyola's lineup. A start at No. 5 might be a bit high, but the Cubs have been one of the most consistent SoCal programs in recent years. It is likely several teams will take a turn at the SoCal No. 1 ranking this season as the area powers all go head-to-head, and in some cases, multiple times during the season. Simply put, don't look for undefeated seasons in SoCal -- the competition is too strong for such dominance.
