FAB 50 High School Soccer Team Rankings

The fall season includes the following states: Connecticut, D.C., Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, Virginia (private), Washington, West Virginia.

The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Season Complete. Indiana Class 2A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,400 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Florida State commit Kristina Lynch, known for her goal scoring ability, assisted both second-half goals as Penn repeated as state champion. Xavier commit Holly McLaughlin scored the first goal off a pass from Lynch in the 54th minute, then Lynch set up Maya Lacognato's game-clincher seven minutes later. Penn has posted back-to-back undefeated seasons and heads into 2018 with a 47-match (45-0-2) undefeated streak. Northwestern commit Mackenzie Wood made a point-blank save early in the match to keep the game scoreless. Lynch finished the season with 44 goals and 19 assists. Portland Jesuit Portland, OR 17-0-0
Callan Harrington scored in a 1-0 win over South Medford, and California commit Sydney Collins scored in a 1-0 victory over Tualatin as Portland Jesuit advanced to the state semifinals. California commit Emma Treasure assisted both goals.

Northern Highlands Allendale, NJ 19-0-0
Cassandra McCabe had a two-goal performance in Northern Highlands' 3-0 win over Morris Hills, and Claudia Mischler scored twice in the team's 3-0 victory over Cliffside Park as the Highlands advanced to the third round of the North Jersey, Section 1, Group 3 tournament.

Houston Germantown, TN 25-0-0*
Season Complete. Tennessee Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Freshman Emma Riales scored the lone goal as Houston edged rival Collierville in an all-Memphis area state final to complete a perfect season. The win marked the eighth title for Houston under longtime coach David Wolff. The Houston senior class went 85-2-4 with two state titles, a runner-up finish and one semifinal appearance.

Central Catholic Lawrence, MA 17-0-1
Providence commit Elayna Grillakis scored twice early in the match and finished with four goals as Central Catholic opened postseason play with a 6-2 win over Andover.

St. Anthony's Melville, NY 15-0-0
Nicole Gordon and Lauren Hackett scored second-half goals as St. Anthony's defeated rival Sacred Heart 2-0 for the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA title. The win sends St. Anthony's to the state semifinals.

Urbana Ijamsville, MD 16-0-1
Urbana, with Tennessee commit Abbey Burdette and High Point commit Caitlin Shepherd, rolled past Paint Branch (8-0) and Sherwood (5-0) to put the team in the regional final against Perry Hall.

Parkland Allentown, PA 24-0-0
Helen Flynn scord the winning goal late in the second overtime as Parkland captured its third straight district title with a 1-0 win over Emmaus.

Moon Moon, PA 20-0-0
Kylee Evans scored the game-winner as Moon edged Mars 3-2 for the district title. The result stretches Moon's win streak to 39 matches. Miami (Ohio) commit Delaney Snyder scored Moon's first goal, her 45th of the season. Abigael McEnroe also added a goal for Moon.

Wall Township Wall, NJ 21-1-1
Jenna Karabin had three goals, Sarah Gordon added two goals and four assists and Cara Capra had two goals and one assist as Wall routed Matawan 7-0 in postseason play last week.

Freehold Township Freehold, NJ 20-1-0
After routing New Brunswick 9-0, Freehold Township had to work a bit harder for a 2-0 result over Princeton last week. Laura Noseworthy and Gabby Zuczek scored the goals.

Pennsbury Fairless Hills, PA 19-1-2
Christine Cataldo-Smith and Jenna Peters scored on headers served up from field hockey player-turned-soccer player Hope Drewes as Pennsbury defeated Spring-Ford 2-1 in the PIAA 4A District One final. Pennsbury advances to this week's 16-team state tournament.
13 Loveland Loveland, OH 20-1-0
Sarah Harter's overtime goal lifted Loveland to a 1-0 victory over Springboro and jumped the team into the No. 13 spot in this week's FAB 50. The win over Springboro, coupled with the fact Springboro beat Perrysburg and Perrysburg just eliminated Strongsville prompted a major reshuffling of the state's Top 10 teams heading into the state semifinals.

Guerin Catholic Noblesville, IN 16-2-1*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A state runner-up.
School Facts: Private, 750 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Marian commit Claire Gavin kept Guerin Catholic in the match with several key saves before Penn was able to net a pair of second-half goals in a 2-0 state final. Although Guerin Catholic has the enrollment of a 2A school, it asked -- and was granted -- permission to play in 3A with the traditional state powers. Guerin had a loss to Brebeuf, but twice beat Carmel -- the second time in PKs in the playoffs. Elle Vuotto led the team with 16 goals. Florida commit Cassidy Lindley and freshman standout Quincy McMahon each had 11.

Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A section runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 4,830 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Carmel's season ended with a shootout loss to Guerin Catholic in the section final. Both of the Greyhounds' losses this season were to Guerin, which included a 1-0 setback earlier in the year. The section final result leaves longtime coach Frank Dixon on 499 career victories. During the regular season, Carmel had key wins over Toledo Notre Dame Academy (Ohio) and Noblesville and the Greyhounds tied Penn. During the postseason, Carmel pinned a 3-0 defeat on previously undefeated Brebeuf Jesuit. Junior Ashley Witucki, a Purdue commit, had two goals and one assist, sophomore Kelsie James, a Valparaiso commit, had a goal and senior standout Katie Soderstrom, a Butler commit, had two assists.

Bridgewater-Raritan Bridgewater, NJ 17-1-0
Allison Lowrey, Gianna Minerva and Morgan Winchock scored second-half goals as Bridgewater-Raritan advanced past Millburn 3-0 in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group 4 second round. Bridgewater-Raritan next faces state-ranked Ridge.

Westfield Westfield, NJ 18-0-1
Faith Dobosiewicz served up a pair of assists as Westfield defeated Columbia 2-0 last week in the North Jersey, Section 2, Group second round. Westfield next faces rival Scotch Plains.
18 Monroe-Woodbury Central Valley, NY 17-2-1
Kayla MacKenzie scored with just under five minutes left as Monroe-Woodbury stunned Arlington 2-1 in the regional final. Arlington had won a regular season meeting between the teams 2-0. Monroe-Woodbury now advances to the state semifinals and will faceFAB 50-ranked Baldwinsville (Charles W. Baker).

Arlington LaGrangeville, NY 20-1-0*
Season Complete. New York Class AA regional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 3,200 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Arlington's bid for back-to-back state titles ended with a 2-1 loss to Monroe-Woodbury, a team it had defeated earlier in the season. After falling behind 1-0, Sofia Germano tied the match with less than 13 minutes remaining. Monroe-Woodbury scored the winner with just under five minutes left. This year's team was led by Notre Dame commit Molly Feighan and goalkeeper Becky Gold, who had 17 shutouts.

Season Complete. New Mexico Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,850 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Junior Hannah Rivera scored in overtime to lift La Cueva to its 16th state title in the 32-year history of the program. La Cueva, the state runners-up the past two seasons, finished with a season-ending 17-match win streak.

Brebeuf Jesuit Indianapolis, IN 18-1-1*
Season Complete. Indiana Class 3A section semifinalist.
School Facts: Private, 800 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Brebeuf Jesuit's bid for a third straight state final ended in a playoff loss to Carmel, the team's only setback of the season. Brebeuf handed Guerin Catholic its only defeat. The Braves played to a tie with FAB 50-ranked Noblesville, and defeated Kentucky power Sacred Heart. Arizona commit Hallie Pearson led the team in goals and assists. Saint Louis commit Brianna Arthur was second in goals.

Suffield West Suffield, CT 16-0-0
Suffield received the No. 1 seed in the Class LL state tournament and will open postseason play in the Round of 16 on Thursday.

Natick Natick, MA 17-0-0
Rachel Jasinski scored twice as Natick opened postseason play in a loaded Massachusetts South Division 1 tournament with a 3-0 win over Walpole. This 18-team tournament features three FAB 50 Top 30 teams -- Natick, Hingham and Whitman-Hanson. The draw leaves Hingham and Whitman-Hanson squaring off in the quarterfinals this week.

Pennington School Pennington, NJ 14-1-1*
Season Complete. New Jersey Prep A state champion.
School Facts: Private, 510 students, grades 6-12.
NOTES: Freshman standout Kylie Daigle scored all three goals as Pennington School defeated Hun School 3-0 in the state final. Sophomore Ellie Hawkey assisted two of the goals. The victory marked Pennington's 13th Prep A title, and No. 14 would not be a stretch next year as most of the starting lineup returns from a team whose only lose was in overtime to Pennsbury (Pa.).

Hingham Hingham, MA 17-1-1
Taylor Aymar scored three goals and Kira Maguire had two goals and two assists as Hingham routed Franklin 6-0 to start postseason play. In an unfortunate draw, Hingham next faces FAB 50 No. 26 Whitman-Hanson in the South Division 1 quarterfinals.
