With five returning all-stater performers, led by Youth National Team member Parker Goins (Arkansas), and riding a 36-match win streak, two-time reigning SIMA FAB 50 spring champ Tulsa Union is an easy choice for preseason No. 1. Other key returnees include Arkansas signees Taylor Malham and Haley VanFossen, Oklahoma signee Paige Hobert, Central Arkansas commit Brianna Amos and Central Oklahoma commit Josie Hawley.
2 Collinsville Collinsville, IL 0-0-0
Collinsville had a staggering 10 seniors sign national letters of intent on Feb. 1, led by Emily Holten (Ole Miss) and Andrea Frerker (SIU-Edwardsville). The Kahoks went 22-2-2 last year as the Class AAA state runner-up, and with seven returning starters, this team is pegged as a clear preseason favorite.
3 St. Thomas Aquinas Overland Park, KS 0-0-0
St. Thomas Aquinas returns 10 starters from a state title-winning team, including North Carolina commit Hallie Klanke and Kansas commit Marge Pigott -- both still underclassmen. Other key players include Hania Crow (William Jewell), Caroline Romme (Benedictine), Alex Moss (Rockhurst) and Allyiah Calvert (Central Missouri).
4 St. Joseph's Academy St. Louis, MO 0-0-0
St. Joseph's Academy is projected to return three first-team and one second-team all-state players from last year's 21-3-1 team, making it the early favorite in what might be the strongest season ever for Missouri soccer with seven SIMA FAB 50 teams in the preseason. The Angels' key returners are Texas Christian commit Ellen Donlin and Wisconsin commit Gabby Lawlor.
5 Naperville North Naperville, IL 0-0-0
Illinois is unrivaled in the spring when it comes to quality high school soccer, and Naperville North joins Collinsville in the preseason Top 5. Among Naperville North's returners are Illinois commit Elizabeth Cablk, LSU commit Caroline Weiss and Iowa commit Morgan Krause. The Huskies are coming off a 21-2-1 season.
6 Grandview Aurora, CO 0-0-0
Although Grandview graduated its star player, it brings back three all-state performers in Jessica Hixson (Utah), Nicole Lyubenko (Alabama) and Taylor Parker (Denver), leaving the Wolves as Colorado's preseason favorite. Grandview went 18-0-1 last season.
7 Lee's Summit Lee's Summit, MO 0-0-0
Three all-state returnees from a 24-2 team, led by Kansas State commit Maddie Souder and Kayla Deaver, make Lee's Summit another front-runner in a loaded Missouri scene.
8 Battlefield Haymarket, VA 0-0-0
Four All-Met returnees highlight a Battlefield team that won a state title and went 21-2-1 last season.
9 Barrington Barrington, IL 0-0-0
DePaul signee Jackie Batliner and Miami (Ohio) signee Sophia Spinell are key returners for Barrington, which went 20-3-1 last year.
10 Forest Hills Central Grand Rapids, MI 0-0-0
Five all-state performers return for a Forest Hills Central team that went 20-1 last year. Cincinnati signee Bailey Korhorn projects as the team's top offensive player.
11 St. Teresa's Academy Kansas City, MO 0-0-0
The Stars return only one all-stater from last year's 20-4 state championship-winning team. Still, St. Teresa's finds a way to reload every year.
12 Ankeny Centennial Ankeny, IA 0-0-0
Although Meg Brandt graduated, Centennial figures to be loaded for another state title run in Iowa. Olivia Wee and Allie Wyckoff, Iowa State commits, will be joined by Drake commit Tori Ubben, Nebraska-Omaha signee Emily Fontana and Northwest Missouri State signee Adrie Gunn. In addition, Centennial will be picking up a new player who is committed to Nebraska.
13 Providence Charlotte, NC 0-0-0
UNC Charlotte signee Kate Hickson and UNC Wilmington signee Molly McGarry lead a Providence team that went 25-1-1 last year.
14 Mills Godwin Richmond, VA 0-0-0
Tennessee commit Paige Franks highlights a Mills Godwin team that is coming off a 20-1 state title-winning season.
15 St. Charles North St. Charles, IL 0-0-0
Iowa commit Hailey Rydberg and Michigan State commit Gia Wahlberg are the key returners for a St. Charles North team that is coming off a 20-4-1 season.
16 Millard West Omaha, NE 0-0-0
Army commit Sydney Cassalia and Texas Tech commit Kenzie Coons highlight the starting lineup for Millard West, which went 17-2.
17 Padua Academy Wilmington, DE 0-0-0
With multiple Division I signees, Padua is expected to again dominate Delaware. But its national standing will by tied to the three out-of-state matches it plays, including a pair at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Tennessee. Padua has won five straight state titles and is riding a 41-match undefeated streak.
18 Weddington Matthews, NC 0-0-0
Weddington and Providence will be in a 1-2 battle for state No. 1 as these Charlotte-area teams have come to dominate the scene in recent years. Weddington will be led by UNC Charlotte signee Remi Roberts.
19 Stoney Creek Rochester Hills, MI 0-0-0
Stoney Creek is the Michigan Division I defending state champion and the Cougars return a pair of all-state performers, led by Eily Solek.
20 New Trier Winnetka, IL 0-0-0
Defending state champion New Trier graduated a talented senior class last year, but the Trevians can never be counted out.
21 Charlotte Latin Charlotte, NC 0-0-0
Charlotte Latin features a pair of North Carolina commits in keeper Claudia Dickey and Mary Elliott McCabe. The team went 19-2-4 last year but the key to a higher national ranking will be tied to results against Weddington and Charlotte Catholic.
22 Owasso Owasso, OK 0-0-0
Oklahoma State commit Hannah Warner is the projected top returner for Owasso, which went 17-2 last season with both losses to SIMA FAB 50 No. 1-ranked Tulsa Union.
23 Notre Dame de Sion Kansas City, MO 0-0-0
Notre Dame de Sion returns four all-state players from last year's 20-5 state title-winning team. UMKC commit Alton Fennewald anchors the defense.
24 Utica Eisenhower Shelby Township, MI 0-0-0
Eisenhower returns a pair of all-state performers from a squad that went 20-1 last season. The key returnee is midfielder Gabriala Jodzis, a Michigan State signee.
25 St. Pius X Atlanta, GA 0-0-0
St. Pius returns 10 starters from last year's state title-winning team, and coaches tab this perennial state power as the preseason favorite in what is generally a strong spring state.
