Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,050 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Wisconsin commit Michayla Herr, Kayla Keck and sophomore All-State selection Sophia Spinell, a Miami (Ohio) commit, converted the first three penalty kicks as Barrington topped New Trier in a state final shootout that went the minimum three rounds. New Trier had two shots hit the post and one was saved by Barrington keeper Sam Schmitz. The contest was a rematch of the 2015 final, won by New Trier. The 2017 final went scoreless through 100 minutes of play, setting up the dramatic finish that led to Barrington's first-ever state title. Barrington ended the season on a 20-match win streak, which included avenging its only defeated with a victory over Naperville North. The Broncos had eight wins over SIMA FAB 50 teams in 2017.

Tulsa Union Tulsa, OK 17-1-0*
Season Complete. Oklahoma Class 6A state champion.
School Facts: Public, 3,500 students, grades 10-12.
NOTES: Arkansas signee Parker Goins and Morgan Hurd scored the goals, both assisted by Arkansas signee Taylor Malham as Union won its third straight state title with a 2-0 victory over Norman North. In the semifinals, Union topped Edmond North 3-1, marking the only goal Union allowed all season. The Redskins are 53-1 over the past three years and the senior class leaves with a 68-2 career record.

St. Pius X Atlanta, GA 21-1-1*
Season Complete. Georgia Class Carolina Class AAAA state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,100 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Caroline Orman scored the lone goal as St. Pius avenged its only loss of the year with a 1-0 victory over Marist in the state final, the program's fifth straight championship. During the season, St. Pius defeated eventual AAA champion Westminster Schools early and tied eventual AAAAA champion McIntosh.

Season Complete. Georgia Class AAA state champion.
School Facts: Private, 1,850 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Westminster scored three goals in the second half to pull away from Pace Academy in a 3-0 state final win for its third straight state title. During the season, Westminster lost to St. Pius, yet had marquee national wins over eventual South Carolina state champion J.L. Mann and Delaware contender Padua Academy. Westminster also tied Edmond North (Okla.), which lost to Tulsa Union in the Oklahoma state semifinals.

School Facts: Public, 4,250 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: New Trier's bid for a fourth straight state title was snuffed out by Barrington in a shootout finish following a scoreless match. New Trier had a chance to win it in the 98th minute with a PK, but the shot hit the crossbar. In the shootout, New Trier misfired on all three shots and Barrington converted its first three to bring an early end to the shootout. The setback was the first for New Trier since a 1-0 loss to Barrington in late April. The Trevians' playoff run included wins over St. Charles North and Collinsville.

Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA Super-Sectional runner-up.
School Facts: Public, 2,000 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: St. Charles North's undefeated season ended with a 1-0 loss to New Trier in the Super-Sectional round, which serves as the state quarterfinals. During the regular season, the North Stars were co-champs of the adidas Tournament of Champions in Iowa and won the PepsiCo Showdown top bracket.

NOTES: Freshman Izzy Heintz and sophomore Gretchen Skoglund scored the goals as Webster Groves, the top-ranked large-school program in the St. Louis area, stunned previous No. 1 Notre Dame de Sion 2-1 in the final.

School Facts: Private, all-girls, 420 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Despite outshooting Webster Groves 17-5, Notre Dame de Sion came out on the short end of a 2-1 state final, which ended the team's bid for a third straight state title and a national No. 1 ranking. Webster Groves went up 2-0 before Gabbi Grimaldi scored for the Storm. During the season, Notre Dame de Sion had key wins over Wisconsin frontrunner Divine Savior-Holy Angels (Wis.), Kansas state runner-up St. Thomas Aquinas (Kan.), perennial title challenger St. Teresa's and Class 4 runner-up Lee's Summit North by a combined 10-1 margin.

Northwestern signee Regan Steigleder scored four goals and Michigan signee Emma Cooper added two goals and two assists as Iowa City West rolled past Clinton 10-0 in the team's only match last week.

School Facts: Private, 1,400 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: North Carolina commit Claudia Dickey, a goalkeeper, played the field in the state final and scored the game-winning goal on a header as Charlotte Latin avenged its only loss with a 1-0 win over Providence Day School.

School Facts: Public, 2,175 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Riley Terry's direct kick goal from 45 yards out gave West Forsyth a stunning 4-3 double overtime win over Cardinal Gibbons. Terry, a sophomore, was named MVP of the final. The match also feature the 58th goal of the season for UNC Wilmington commit Brooklyn Berry.

School Facts: Public, 2,150 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Sophomore Taeya Schueppert, an Arizona commit, scored twice and Colorado signee Katie Joella scored as Mountain Vista defeated Arapahoe 3-1 in the state final. Mountain Vista started the year 2-2-1 and won its last 15 matches, which included a state semifinal shootout win over two-time defending state champion Grandview.

NOTES: Sophomores Ellie Schram and Peyton Kennedy scored the goals as Blue Valley West edged Blue Valley North 2-1 in the state final.

NOTES: Lauren Seedlock came off the bench to make two saves in the shootout as J.L. Mann edged Wando in the state final. The win marked J.L. Mann's second title in three years. J.L. Mann's only loss was to Westminster Schools (Ga.) at the Smoky Mountain Cup.

NOTES: Geneva's season ended with a 3-1 section final loss to St. Charles North. Geneva's other loss was a 1-0 setback to New Trier. The Vikings, meanwhile, had three wins over regionally ranked St. Charles East, two wins over Naperville Central, and added key wins over Wheaton Academy, Batavia and Waubonsie Valley. Geneva and St. Charles North played to a tie earlier in the season.

NOTES: Cardinal Gibbons gave up three goals from distance, including the game-decider in overtime in a 4-3 state final loss to West Forsyth. Julia Lucas, Haley Garrett and North Carolina commit Maggie Pierce scored for Gibbons.

Forest Hills Central defeated Rockford 3-0 in the District 2 final, sending the team in to the regional round which serves as the final 16 teams.

School Facts: Private, all-girls, 700 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Delaney Gunn and Marquette signee Rachel Johnson scored the goals as Marian defeated Millard North 2-0 in the state final, the program's second straight crown and fifth in the past eight years.

NOTES: Warren's season ended with a 3-0 loss to Barrington. Warren's other loss was to Lake Forest, which it defeated later in the year. The team's key regional victory was a 4-0 win over Incarnate Word Academy (Mo.).

NOTES: Edmond North's season ended with a 3-1 loss to Tulsa Union. North was the only team to score a goal on Tulsa Union this season. Edmond North went 2-0-1 at the Smoky Mountain Cup in Tennessee, which included a tie with Westminster (Ga.).

Rachel Jackson's overtime goal lifted Madison to a 2-1 win over Yorktown, avenging one of the team's defeats and sending the Warhawks into the Class 6A state semifinals as the favorite.

Season Complete. Illinois Class AAA third place.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: In a season full of expectation, Collinsville struggled early before putting it all together at the end of the season for a run to the state semifinals. The Kahoks' title bid ended with a 2-1 overtime loss to New Trier. The next day, Collinsville defeated Downers Grove North 4-2 in the third-place match. Downers Grove North had knocked out Naperville North in the Super-Sectional round.
25 Eureka Eureka, MO 19-6-0*
Season Complete. Missouri Class 4 state champion.
School Facts: Public, 1,950 students, grades 9-12.
NOTES: Eureka hung around the bottom of the Missouri Top 10 most of the season, then made a dazzling run to a state title, which included a state semifinal win over favored St. Joseph's Academy and a state final victory over Lee's Summit North. Sophomore standout Sam Courtois scored both of Eureka's goals in a 2-1 win over Lee's Summit North. One of Eureka's regular season losses was to Collinsville (Ill.).
