Barrington also defeated New Trier in last year's state final en route to a FAB 50 No. 1 finish. While this completely rebuilt team was a solid Top 25 program most of the year, it got hot at the right time, taking out then top-ranked St. Charles North, Top 10-ranked Naperville North and finally No. 2 New Trier in its final three matches. Illinois commit Ashley Prell netted the winning kick while Schmitz made three saves in the 3-2 shootout win that went six rounds. 9 (3)

First Colonial Virginia Beach, VA 17-1-0
First Colonial was upset by Frank Cox, 2-1, in the regional final, but the outcome was not too important as both teams already had secured places in this week's state tournament. First Colonial's future ranking, however, will hang in the balance of this week's results in Virginia most competitive classification, which includes FAB 50 No. 2 Madison.
10 (14)

Marian Bloomfield Hills, MI 19-0-1
Marian routed three playoff opponents by a combined 25-0 margin, and did so without needing much help from Virginia commit Jansen Eichenlaub, who accounted for only one goal during the week. Games start to get more challenging this week in the regional tournament.

In the final, sophomore Liz Geeslin and junior Caroline Ross scored the goals as Marist rallied for the victory and the program's 10th state title.
16 (16) Deep Run Glen Allen, VA 17-0-1
Melissa Mancuso scored the game-winner on a header as Deep Run won the Region 5B title 1-0 over rival Freeman. Both teams advance to the Virginia 5A state tournament. Deep Run will be a co-favorite with Briar Woods in this classification, and the teams are pitted in opposite ends of the playoff bracket meaning the only way they could meet is for a state title on Saturday.

Season Complete. Georgia Class AAAAAAA state champion.
School Facts: Public, 2,935 students, grades 9-12.
