In the regional semifinals, Madison edged Patriot 1-0 in an overtime clash of undefeated Virginia powers. Leas scored the OT winner, assisted by Faith Lee. |

NOTES: For the second straight year, Harvard signee Samantha Schmitz came up huge in the penalty kicks as Barrington repeated as state champions with a PK win over New Trier following a 1-1 match. Barrington also defeated New Trier in last year's state final en route to a FAB 50 No. 1 finish. While this completely rebuilt team was a solid Top 25 program most of the year, it got hot at the right time, taking out then top-ranked St. Charles North, Top 10-ranked Naperville North and finally No. 2 New Trier in its final three matches. Illinois commit Ashley Prell netted the winning kick while Schmitz made three saves in the 3-2 shootout win that went six rounds. Interestingly, Prell and Schmitz were Barrington's two all-state first-team selections. |

St. Charles North started the year as the FAB 50 No. 1 team, fell from the top spot only to return down the home stretch. |

The victory marked Charlotte Latin's fourth straight state title and third win over PDS this year, the only three losses suffered by the fellow FAB 50-ranked team. McCabe ended the season with 43 goals and 117 for her career. |
