The winter high school season includes the following states: Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The rankings are compiled by high school rankings editor Sheldon Shealer.

Tompkins is scoring by committee. Last week, the team twice had for different goal scorers in a 4-1 win over Cinco Ranch and a 4-0 decision over Morton Ranch.

Upland closed out the regular season with a 6-1 win over Rancho Cucamonga. The goal allowed was the first for Upland since Dec. 17 -- a stretch of 14 matches. The Highlanders earned the No. 1 seed for the upcoming CIF Southern Section Division 1 playoffs.

School Facts: Private, 1,200 students, grades K-12.
NOTES: Montverde Academy closed out one of the most bizarre seasons in memory with a 4-0 win over regionally ranked Holy Names. The Eagles, which opted not to compete in the state tournament this year after winning back-to-back titles, played only three matches after Dec. 13 as seven teams canceled games against this state power. This year's team was led by Jamaican National Team player Jody Brown, who has committed to Florida State, and UCF commit Maria Tregansin. Montverde Academy's marquee win was a 3-2 decision over Bartram Trail. The playoff performances of the teams Montverde Academy defeated will go a long way in determining this team's final ranking.

Flower Mound Flower Mound, TX 11-0-1
Flower Mound earned its move to No. 4 following a pair of 1-0 wins over Top 20 teams. First, Houston signee Caitlyn Matthews netted the winner in a 1-0 decision over SIMA FAB 50 No. 13 Hebron. Sophomore Carlie Krueger scored the decisive goal with four minutes remain for a 1-0 victory over No. 14 Marcus.

Prosper Prosper, TX 14-0-1
Jordyn Herrera scored the first two goals and Haley Nichols added the third as Prosper edged Allen 3-2 in a clash of nationally ranked programs last week. Here's Nichol's game-winning goal.

Byron Nelson Trophy Club, TX 11-0-1
Cassidy Bell scored a goal in each match as Byron Nelson defeated Timber Creek 3-1 and Keller 2-0 last week.

Archbishop Mitty San Jose, CA 13-1-3
Emma Vane had two goals and one assist while Teresa Garcia had a goal and two assists as Archbishop Mitty defeated St. Francis to avenge its only loss of the season. The result also helped Mitty move to No. 2 in this week's state rankings.

Monte Vista Danville, CA 12-1-2
Monte Vista fell behind 2-0 in the first half and could not recover in a 4-3 loss to league rival Carondelet. Carondelet takes over the league lead, but that could change this week as both teams face league rivals.

On Senior Night, four underclassmen scored goals as Cathedral Catholic defeated Scripps Ranch. The Dons also edged Point Loma 3-2 last week.

Sophia Soto scored four goals last week as McAllen rolled to district wins over Mission (9-0) and La Joya (7-0). This week, McAllen takes on McAllen Memorial, which enters the match with a 14-0 record.

Allen's undefeated season ended with a 3-2 setback to Prosper. Earlier in the week, Allen defeated former SIMA FAB 50-ranked McKinney Boyd 2-0. Taylor Spitzer scored both goals.

Ursuline Academy Dallas, TX 17-0-1
The opening round of the TAPPS playoffs are complete mismatches for the likes of Ursuline Academy, SIMA FAB 50 No. 15 St. Agnes and regionally ranked Nolan Catholic. Those three combined to score 29 goals in opening-round blowouts. Ursuline proved the "closest" of the matches, winning 8-0 over All Saints Episcopal. The team is on course to meet Nolan Catholic in the state semifinals.

After falling to SIMA FAB 50 No. 4 Flower Mound 1-0, Hebron bounced back with a 6-1 win over Irving MacArthur. TCU signee Olivia Hasler had two goals and one assist.

It was an interesting week for Marcus. The Marauders' defeated former SIMA FAB 50 No. 3 Coppell 3-2 before falling 1-0 to current No. 4 Flower Mound. This powerhouse District 6-6A features four teams in the SIMA FAB 50.

St. Agnes took its first step toward a TAPPS state title showdown with one of the DFW powers following a 9-0 opening round victory over St. Pius X Catholic.

UCF signee Jordyn Pitter scored the regulation goal and added one in the shootout as Archbishop McCarthy survived the district final against Pembroke Pines Charter. The match ended 1-1 before McCarthy emerged on PKs 4-3.

Freshman Kasie Vigil had a big week, first serving up the assist in the team's 1-0 win over Xavier Prep then delivering three assists in the team's 4-0 victory over Kofa. Grand Canyon commit Brenna Alderson scored the winner against Xavier.

School Facts: Private, 5,400 students, grades K-12 (at three campuses).
NOTES: Anuhea Aluli scored in the 51st minute and KS-Kapalama defeated King Kekaulike 1-0 to caps an undefeated season and repeat as state champions. Kalia Kalua was named Most Outstanding Player for the state tournament. Five other KS-Kapalama players, including Aluli, were named to the all-tournament team.

Vandergrift extended its win streak to seven matches with a 3-2 decision over regionally ranked Round Rock Westwood and 6-0 victory over Leander. The Vipers' only losses this season are to SIMA FAB 50 No. 5 Prosper and No. 11 Allen.
