Espor is soccer’s game-changing technology
April 9, 2009

It’s being used to zone in on a rival team’s every flaw.  Pro teams in Europe have been capitalizing on it for years.  Coaches are using it to customize drills and sculpt players who are being trained to seek out every competitive advantage.   eSpor headlines its sports analysis product as the “game-changing technology for soccer” and it’s not hard to see why.

Technology is making this generation’s line of sports analysis tools a strategic necessity for many coaches and teams in the soccer community, and causing us to rethink age-old sports adages like “leave everything on the field.” These days, a winning team may be determined by what technology they are using off the field just as much as what they do on it.

eSpor’s two products, e-assist and e-analyze, provide game analysis as well as video analysis of games. E-analyze is every coach’s dream, giving them the capability of omnipresence. With it, they are able to track the performance and actions of any player and get detailed statistics on their movements. E-assist is the butter to the bread, making most of the advantages created by E-analyze. It creates game solutions and play animations for a coach and acts as an instructional, visual tool for coaches to visually represent their intentions.

So why does eSpor’s product matter at the club level? Jason Graves, Colorado-based president of eSpor, explains how they are tailoring their product, which has already found success from the pro level in Europe to club teams in the United States.

“We want to be the de facto mid market product for elite clubs,” Graves said. “A couple of our competitors in the U.S. cater to MLS teams but eSpor is targeting clubs. Our product is more affordable, user-friendly and fine-tuned for clubs. It helps coaches in player development because during the game they might not pick up on certain tendencies of their teams. It’ll break down their teams in greater detail and give them an edge.”

Graves is optimistic that his sports analysis technology will open up opportunities for young players at the club level.

“From a player standpoint, clubs provide this type of offering to give their athletes an avenue or a means to more self-marketing,” he said. “At the end of the season a club coach can give each of his players a DVD of highlights from the season and the players can send it to the colleges of their choice.”

As some of the top clubs in the US are already beginning to profit from this post-game advantage, we will begin to see how game-changing Espor’s technologies truly are.
