Have you ever watched a soccer match in a truly great stadium?

There’s nothing like it. Here are five facilities that have to be near the top of the list of best places to take in a football match.

CAMP NOU
Location: Barcelona, Spain
Capacity: 98,800

Skinny: The home of FC Barcelona since 1957, this gargantuan of a facility is the largest stadium in Europe. But not just spatial, it’s a UEFA 5-star rated venue and has hosted its share of big matches.

A staple of the area, Camp Nou has also hosted many non-football events including high-profile musical performances.

Amsterdam soccer ArenaAmsterdam Arena
CELTIC PARK
Location: Glasgow, Scotland
Capacity: 60,000

Skinny: This all-seater stadium houses Celtic Football Club and features plenty of green. Possessing more history than some of its counterparts, Celtic Park has stood since the 1888.

The layout consists of three large double-tiered stands and a lower double-tier main stand that contains the Celtic museum.

AMSTERDAM ARENA
Location: Amsterdam, Netherlands
Capacity: 51,600

Skinny: A new addition, Amsterdam Arena has the look of a contemporary facility with the feel of a classic. Launched in 1996, the arena has a lot of the perks consistent with new facilities, including a retractable roof.

The AFC Ajax play here, though this was one of the stadiums used for the UEFA Euro 2000.

STAMFORD BRIDGE
Location:
Fulham London
Capacity: 42,500

Skinny: Nicknamed “The Bridge,” this classic was established in 1877. It houses Chelsea F.C. A cozy facility, it’s the smallest stadium of the “Big Four” clubs but features plenty of attractions including adjacent hotels, a museum and an interactive visitor attraction called the Chelsea World of Sport.

CITY OF MANCHESTER STADIUM
Location:
Manchester, England
Capacity: 47,726

Skinny: Unique and bowl-shaped, this stadium broke ground in 1999 and was designed as part of Manchester’s failed bid for the 2000 Olympics.

It hosted the UEFA Cup Final last year and is known for its structure: three tiers of seating sides and two tiers at each end.
