Here some of the recap’s from Wednesday’s matches:

Loudoun demolish NJ Wildcats

After succumbing to a 5-0 defeat on Tuesday, Loudoun 95 Red answered back with a statement win, defeating NJ Wildcats Lady Strikers 9-0 on Wednesday.

“We played Jersey in the past and had success against them,” Loudoun head coach Randy May told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “We won by a large margin of victory, and we weren’t trying to embarrass anybody because we knew this tournament can go down to goal differential.”

Entering the second half leading 3-0, the team from Virginia went on to score six more goals, which involved McKensey Ziegler scoring a hat-trick in the thrashing of the New Jersey Wildcats.

Second-half substitute Emily Beatty and Emma Quirk got on the scoresheet in the last ten minutes of the match, after scoring from close range to help put the game to bed.

Richmond score eight against FC Dallas

The battle for a berth in the championship followed moments later.

Richmond Kickers Girls U18 Elite, led by a brace scored by Alani Johnson and Katie Cousins respectively, routed FC Dallas Premier, 8-0, as they move forward to clinching a spot for the championship match.

“We have a very solid group of kids. We like to keep the ball in our possession,” Kickers head coach Rob Ukrop told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “The field was a bit wet, but we played solid soccer throughout the whole match. We played a quality team. We need one more win to progress in the finals and I’m proud on how we played in the final third.”

Forward Alani Johnson put the Kickers up 1-0 in the 22nd minute after she was able to dribble past Dallas’ defense and slot the ball into the net. Johnson continued her scoring form in the second half when she secured her brace in the 50th minute after sloppy defense gave the forward the clear opportunity to send the ball in the top left corner of the net.

Meanwhile, Cousins, who played an integral part in the match, went on to score two goals in a matter of five minutes. While both goals were scored from long distance, both Cousins and Johnson would substitute out for the remainder of the game in the 70th minute after already leading 5-0.

Madi Conyers and Carly McBain went on to secure the victory after scoring in the last ten minutes of the match.

JASA surge past Florida Kraze Krush

95 JASA Coastal Surge went on to rally back and claim a 2-1 victory over the Florida Kraze Krush.

“We kind of got complacent with the 1-0 lead, but we managed to fight back and secure a tough victory,” head coach Drew Perry told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “The pitch was a bit slippy and wet, so there were a lot of slips and falls, but the girls were able to play through that and find that second important goal, which we really needed.”

Kristina Stevenson scored the game-winner in the 70th minute after a failed clearance in the box resulted in Stevenson capitalizing on the defensive error.

Krush got on the scoreboard first after Katie Causey scored off a penalty kick. Despite allowing that tally, JASA goalkeeper Alexis Jones had several key saves in the match that helped preserve the win.
