Here are some of the recap’s from Thursday’s matches:

Solar Chelsea shock Tampa Bay United

Although already being mathematically out of the championship hunt, Solar Chelsea 98 did the improbable by defeating nationally ranked No. 6 Tampa Bay United Premier, 1-0.

“We got an early goal, and this is a fantastic team after we just finished having a tough weekend,” head coach Stacey Blazo-Pulpaneck told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “We had nothing to lose, and we just battled through and pulled it off at the end.”

Forward Claire Gantzer scored the only goal in the seventh minute after she was able to capitalize on a defensive error from Tampa Bay. Chelsea goalkeeper Danielle Greenlee was able to hold off Tampa’s late push to earn the clean sheet for the game.

Jaguars rally back in the second half, top Courage

After being down one goal early in the second half, Michigan Jaguars FC U16 scored two goals in two minutes to claim a 3-2 victory over PWSI Courage 97 Red.

“We just kept playing, it was good to fight back being down a goal,” head coach Michael Scobie told TopDrawerSoccer.com. “There’s a rhythm to these games, and to grab that third goal made me happy on how we responded.”

Madeline Trevisan gave the Jaguars the early lead after she scored from a run of play in the ninth minute. It wasn’t until the 31st minute when the Courage leveled the match, as Xavia Lemott’s strike from close range beat the goalkeeper.

The Courage would enter the second half by drawing a penalty kick in the 54th minute, leaving Elizabeth Sozio to give her side the first lead of the match. However, Michigan showed they had some gas left in the tank when Madison Pogarch scored in the 65th minute, only to follow up with Mollie McGorisk’s strike from distance two minutes later for the eventual game winner.

Eight goal thriller between Louisiana and South Carolina

There were two hat-trick heros, but no winner in a 4-4 draw between the Louisiana Fire U17 and South Carolina Mount Pleasant 96 Elite.

Mount Pleasant’s Miranda Weslake scored a hat-trick in the first half, and added one more int the 68th minute. Meanwhile, the Fire’s forward Alexandra Thomas sealed her hat-trick in the dying minutes of the match when she headed in a failed clearance from a set-piece to put one back for her side.

Kassandra Ortega, however, delivered the game-tying goal late into stoppage-time to avoid a 4-3 defeat when she struck a failed clearance for the 4-4 tie.
