Blugolds Shutout on Road Against Luther
DECORAH, Iowa (Blugolds.com) — For the second straight game, and the third time this season, the UW-Eau Claire women's soccer team fell 1-0, this time at the hands of Luther (Iowa) in a non-conference matchup.
Luther (8-5-0) got a goal in the 55th minute and that proved to be the only goal of the game. It was the fifth time this season the Blugolds (4-6-3) were shutout this season.
UW-Eau Claire was outshot 9-6 and Luther led with 11 corner kicks to just four for the Blugolds. Fallon Peplinski (Fr.-Appleton, Wis./Xavier) received a yellow card in the 70th minute for the Blugolds.
Nina Behrenbrinker (Sr.-St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) made three saves on four shots in goal.
This game wrapped up a streak of five-straight road games for the Blugolds. They will finally return home Saturday to take on UW-Platteville at 1 p.m. for Alumni Weekend. They will also be home on Sunday to take on St. Thomas (Minn.) in a nonconference matchup at 3 p.m.
