November 8, 2010
Big East power Louisville remains at #1 in the TopDrawerSoccer.com Men’s Tournament 48 National Ranking after staying undefeated with a 2-0 Big East Tournament quarterfinal victory over West Virginia.
The Cardinals are one of just two undefeated programs in DI men’s soccer (Butler is the other), have won 11 matches in a row and now stand at 15-0-2 overall. Maryland, Akron, North Carolina and SMU remained at positions 2-5 after weekend wins.
UCLA's Brian RoweThe Men’s Tournament 48 National Ranking is a running effort to project the 48-team NCAA Tournament field, including all automatic conference and at-large bids to the field. It is updated every Monday through the season. You can see the entire ranking here.
The ranking also attempts to integrate the RPI used so prominently by the NCAA in its tournament selection field. Most conferences now turn to their postseason tournaments, with a few wrapping up the regular season.
Meanwhile, UCLA goalkeeper Brian Rowe has been named TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Week. Rowe made 9 saves and recorded a pair of shutouts as the Bruins defeated Washington and Oregon State in Pac-10 play.
With the award, Rowe headlines this week’s TopDrawerSoccer.com Team of the Week.
