LEAD STORY:
New Trier (Winnetka, Ill.) started the season as the girls SIMA FAB 50 No. 1 team and will again finish among the nation's elite after winning a third straight Illinois Class 3A title -- this one in dominant fashio.
New Trier capped a 26-3-1 season with a 4-0 victory over Collinsville (Ill.) in the 3A final.
Here are few tidbits on the New Trier dynasty:
* Three straight 3A state titles ... the longest run of consecutive championships in Illinois since St. Charles won the last of five in a row in 2000.
* New Trier has not allowed a postseason goal since 2013
* New Trier's 4-0 state final victory matched the largest margin of victory in Illinois large-school state championship history.
* New Trier has gone 84-5-2 over the past three seasons.
